Sergio is probably a natural 156 pounds which means he can easily fight between 154 and 158 but his best weight is probably 156/157. Dude is 36 yrs old and would blow it all going up in weight for far less money. Cotto is a far bigger name than any of those guys up there right now and Sergio would stop him within 4/5 rounds which would again put pressure on Manny and Floyd. As long as he can make 154 he has a right to call out any fighter that can fight there.

        Pretty much agree with this....

Sergio is gonna let his own hype go to his head, and he will become a new mayweather, constantly trying to put down his opponents fighters

He said he faught no hopes...yet he wants Cotto at 154.....Makes alot of sense lol

Angulo is pricing himself out again. I honestly don't think Sergio Martinez is scarred to fight anyone in his weight range, so I won't make an excuse for him about being "too small".
So, why don't you use the same logic when talking about Pacquiao?
That's strange. And if you compare both fighters record, with a naked eye Pacquiao is well above Martinez....

Beating Kelly Pavlik and Williams will not make you the best !! I'm proud of Martinez, he's a fabulous warrior. But pleaseee !!

          • "While he continues to fight with opponents who have no chance of winning, and I continue to fight against the best".
Theres a reason they have no chance of winning, pac is that good lol

Sergio is P4P Quality, but seriously....how about he does a RJJ and moves up in weight division after division and keeps winning

Then maybe we can say your on pacs level

Because this is Marquez vs Floyd all over again except martinez got a pass for calling out fighters who are campaigning 2 weight class below him and both clearly said they are not comfortable at 154. **** even oscar got hell from making paquaio move up 2 weight classes. But yet Martinez gets this pass. **** the number 1 fight the everyone want to see is Pacquaio vs floyd because they are basically the same size and are the two greatest fighter in our era. The only reason martinez is threat to both of them is because of his size. We all know if he was the same size as pacquaio or floyd he would have no chance especailly when he is alot easy to hit and leaves his hands low and nowhere near as fast as both of them.

And the funny thing he says that pacquaio fight no hope but then turns around and call out Cotto.

And the sad part is that pacquaio is younger than martinez, and both have no amatuer background(yes martinez fans use this excuse on why his early years he has bums in his resume) but yet pacquaio resume is far far superior to martinez. And the funny part is that all the names that martinez called out are all money makers and the martinez fan cant even see this.

                • Tell Sergio Martinez To Shut The F&#+! Up!

I'm starting to dislike Martinez after I had quite admiration for the last 15 months of his career. He's now trash talking Pacquiao, trying to call him out, for Pacquiao being the biggest payday out there. Pacquiao and Toach have said they'll stay at 147 lbs where they are comfortable. Walking around Pacquiao weighs 145-147. Martinez is trying to bait Pacquiao to coming up in weight, to where Martinez fight night will weigh 170-175lbs. Shut up Martinez! How about if Martinez steps up and calls out Bernard Hopkins? Everyone Pacquiao has fought has been larger than him. Oscar, Clottey, Cotto, Margarito. Give me a break! Manny doesn't need to keep moving up in weight till he crosses paths with someone too big and strong.

I mean, what can you argue with in that post?

Can you dispute one fact in it?

Sergio sees that Manny will only fight guys coming off the biggest losses of their career. Many fans see it. Belts don't mean anything if you win them in fraudulent ways. His win over Margarito was a farce because Margarito was not a champion, nor should he have been there to compete for a title when he was banned for cheating.

If Floyd were to fight and beat Berto in June, Manny would be looking to fight Berto in December. Manny only fights guys who have just lost. Period.

I think Manny is exciting to watch. I think he is good for boxing. I think he has talent. But I also think he's a paper tiger. His wins at welterweight lack substance because he uses catchweights and he only chooses to fight boxers who have been exposed in the last big outing.

                    That's not greatness. That's not a champion.

So again, I thought LeadUppercut's post was spot on and brilliant.
Well, I only drag out that old post for particularly dishonest users because it is kind of inflammatory, but it is also hard to argue with huh?

                    " paper tiger " ?

I like it, good post..... especially the bold.

                    • i respect the fact that Martinez is trying to get paid but he's taking it too far because he's contradicting himself. He talks about how much taller and bigger he is then Pac and then he basically calls him a ducker. He talks about how Pac fights against "No-Hopers" and then he wants to fight Cotto who Pac already destroyed. So why the hell would Martinez want to fight Cotto? Excluding money. Martinez has beaten GOOD NOT GREAT fighters and all of a sudden he's acting like a bit of a diva himself. Keep looking for good fights and build yourself even more. You just don't build yourself to be a Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather type superstar in just a couple fights.
