The biggest story of the week is the promotional tug of war for WBC/WBO bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire. Several days ago, Golden Boy Promotions announced the multi-year promotional signing of Donaire, who claimed free agency from Top Rank. Soon after, Top Rank's CEO, Bob Arum, disclosed that his company still has a valid binding promotional contract over Donaire. The matter is clearly heading to a court of law for resolution.

arum knows what he is doing. like i said, he might not have altruistic motivations for his promotional tactics - but they are a PROVEN method for getting ****** ****ing rich. oscar, floyd - both proteges of bob. if donaire had just done his part as a boxer and keep whipping ass - donaire would have been making 5 mill per fight by 2012, 10 mill by 2013. and then 15-20 mill from there out.

Arum knows what he is doing when it comes to making money...FOR HIMSELF! His proven methods of getting ****** rich is about lining his own pockets, don't you get that? It's certainly not about the fighters getting Oscar was a cash cow out of the box because of the Olympics, movie star looks and Mexican heritage. He started making much more money once he left Arum. Floyd was a NOBODY while he was with Arum. Once he left, what happened? If Arum is so great, how do u explain Pac, who has a very fan friendly fighting style , and gets loads of exposure, yet he consistently gets smaller purses, draws and gates than Mayweather?

I agree with the Donaires. Top Rank could have put Nonito on bigger shows for the same pay. Nonito deserved to fight at Cowboys stadium on a Pac undercard at least once, and not be banished to obscure PPVs. Arum's done more with Brandon Rios in the last year than with Nonito in 2-3 years. Rios has had more exposure than Donaire.

Donaire had just been given a top spot on HBO against a live guy, and was on his way to fight another good fighter in the same position. I'm not sure about the timing of all this. Seems weird to me.

No, she does not sound jealous at all. Arum sounds threatened by Doniare's star potential, like Donaire might take some of the spot light from Pac. If Arum was smart, he would do every thing he can to give Donaire exposure because Manny will only be around a few more years. Arum made a bad business decision.
