Yes, he's better off not fighting at all while the two companies claiming rights to his contract battle it out in a long, drawn out custody battle in court. Great thinking, couldn't have asked for a better situation.

Susuportahan naman natin si Nonito all the way pre e, but this is not a simple oversight from them, magtataka ka talaga what they we're thinking.

What bantams do you know who are getting 1/4 of that right now? Hell, even Moreno is on that overpricing bandwagon asking for 1/2 mil himself which anyone with half a brain can tell is absolutely ridiculous.

And it's not like Nonito is filling arenas and stadiums, pulling in 300K buys, etc for him to justify that asking price. If he goes on the Pac plan and rises in weight and takes on Vazquez then big money fights with Gamboa and/or Juanma then yes, $1 mil+ would make perfect sense.

But fighting Moreno, Chris John, Mares, etc and getting paid $1 mil to do it is a horrible business proposition for any promoter.

I blame Haymon/HBO and their Berto overpricing bull****. Guy is being paid handsomely to fight busboys as the 2nd to last lead-in fight to main events on free HBO cards. Guys see that and think 'Why should I take 1/2 mil to fight champions/contenders when I could get double to fight my mailman?'. HBO ****ed up and now it's have negative reverberations throughout the sport.
I hear and feel what you are saying but all in all, if Arum would have put him on one or 2 Pac undercards, his stock would have went up. Can't deny that the kid is a superstar waiting to happen and he has great potential. After the Montiel fight is perfect to capitalize on it but Arum was ready to keep him down again. I think Donaire is a true fighter and he is tired of fighting mail men, cab drivers and bus boys

I agree wholeheartedly and have been saying that for a while actually. It's just that there's a lot of behind the scenes politics that have prevented it. Namly, the scumbag Koncz:

Talk about anything boxing related here. Where the boxing discussion is always Non Stop!

I understand 1000% why Nonito wouldn't do business with Cons, can't fault him for that. But it seems it cost him in that his stock isn't as high as it could be. If Nonito had performances like his last 2 fights in the leadup to a Pacquiao fight with 1 mil+ people paying to watch, then obviously that helps both Nonito and Top Rank.

Definitely a big mistake not to feature Donaire on a Pac card, especially since Manny won't be around too much longer and a large portion of his fan base (and maybe even more American fans since Nonito can connect with them better and doesn't deal w/ the language barrier) would be absorbed by him.

I think if Arum is right and Nonito is still legally tied to Top Rank, they should have a meeting and Nonito (Rachel) should offer to sign an extension with the caveat being Nonito HAS to appear on 1 or 2 Pacquiao undercards as the lead up bout. Seems to solve everyone's problems- Donaire stays under contract, he can expand his exposure, fan base, etc, and his asking price might make more sense. Then again, you'd have to deal with Koncz since MP is the copromoter on every Pac PPV and they'd want their share of Nonito. It'd be a bit complicated, but I'm sure they can work something out to everyone's benefit with mediation.

This is really simple, Donaire's broke the contract. He's liable to whatever penalty written in the contract. Dragging GBP only add insult to the injury.
You would have gotten the sympathy of the jury if it was just TR Vs Donaire.
TR will now have to go all guns blazing against Nonito and GBP. I hope Nonito and GBP get a good set of lawyers and lots of moolah to appease TR. Either way, Nonito is F***. Buuh Bye "under da saya", "Tigasin", "Canadian" Nonito, wont be seeing you for sometime. Better hide or spend all your money now coz evil Bob Arum is gonna take it.

Address that to GBP. They know they have to provide compensation to TR.
I just don't understand why GBP keep shooting their foot all the time.

Donaire broke contract...just like the lease on a car...He's liable to whatever.
It all boils down to responsibility. Why drag another party? It only prolong the problem.

Arum's reason for not putting Donaire in Pacquiao's undercards is lame and very very ******. As a promoter, race should have nothing to do with boxing. Skills should. On the other hand, that's like denying Pacquiao is a Filipino. Fans of Donaire should be really pissed about this. It doesn't make any sense.
