It can be, if the opponent is right. 700-800K for the Margarito rematch, you can bookmark that.

Nice haul for a tuneup- $10-12.5 million from PPV, $1 million in gate.

Oscar De La Hoya did 350K vs Yori Boy Campas in 2003 after dominating Fernando Vargas and 240K vs Wilfredo Rivera just to give two examples of some of De La Hoya's low PPV numbers. Is he a fraud as a draw? Keep in mind those two fights happen on Oscar's best time. 250 is great and not too many can do that on boxing today.

250,000 is good considering that mayorga is shot and most people didn't see it as a great fight.

No one can do that outside of Manny, Floyd, and Cotto headlining a card... let alone a blatant tuneup.

Just for comparison sake- Marquez-Diaz II, Hopkins-Jones II, Mosley-Mora all did 100-150K max in the last few years and those are some of the most well known stars in boxing.

Hell Cotto-Mayorga would rank 4th in 2010 just behind Mayweather-Mosley, Pacquiao-Margarito and Pacquiao-Clottey. And it was a fight seen as a tuneup!

No one here in their right mind is going to try to argue that Cotto is a bigger draw than Oscar was. He was just showing something to put things in perspective, not to compare Oscar and Miguel. But Cotto is clearly the 3rd biggest draw in the sport right now, don't see how that's even debatable right now.

Wow great number in my opinion. Lot more than most well-known boxers for this kind of fight.
