He'll get the belt eitherway because Chavez will have to vacate the belt if he doesn't fight Martinez seeing how he's the Emeritus champion. Hopefully he doesn't have to fight Chavez and he simply vacates so that Martinez gets the belt automatically, but I'll be perfectly fine with seeing Martinez destroy Chavez.
Chavez won't have to vacate anything. Suliman will find a way to keep Sergio away from Chavez just how he found a way of giving chavez a tittle shot without facing Martinez And just how he found a way to make Canelo 154 WBC champion.

everyone at hbo should get fired imediately if they vetoed a martinez-pirog fight.

pirog needs to get this bullshi t fight out of the way and get busy.

          wbc said "does not compute".
          jcc is mexican.
          sergio is argentinian
          sergio kicks jcc's ass
but if we strip sergio and give belt to zbik...then jcc can beat zbik and we can give belt to a fellow mexican...err...we mean jcc...legitimate champ...like canelo
we can give sergio a made up BS title to keep him sweet and take sanctioning fee but FFS...dont let sergio get in the ring with JCC because we'll end up with NO mexican champion.
might as well put canelo in with ANYONE at 154 with a pulse and a punch....

In a heartbeat? HBO hasn't put Pirog on television for over half a year. It's going to be at least a year by the time he makes another HBO appearance. Shows how little they give a **** about Pirog.

They haven't shown him since he beat Jacobs. They said he wasn't even a viable option for Martinez going into this fight......the issue is plain to see to me. HBO had a "cashcow" in Jacobs (or so they thought) and fully expected him to win against Pirog. I guarantee that had that fight gone the entire distance, the judges would have ripped Pirog off to give Jacobs the win.

Pirog ruined their pipe dream so they punish him by not showing him again. I wish they would set up a pirog fight personally. I like Pirog but he would get eaten up by Martinez and then it would be "Martinez is ducking this guy and that guy"........I tell you what......whatever guy they put in against him is going to lose, doesn't matter who it is going to be. Pirog, with his lack of experience and limited opposition, is going to break down and fall to pieces in there.

When did Sergio fans become just like *****s? Or did the *****s find a new guy to suck up to? Seriously, he shouldn't get into the ring with Martinez because he's going to lose anyway? Just let them fight, he's obviously the best in the division currently (aside from Martinez) so lets get it on, mismatch or not.

HAHA...nice try. In my post I said I would like to see the fight personally so Sergio can beat him down and move on. I have been hyping up my man Serg since the Bunema fight.......and every fight, it's the same thing "Dude is overhyped and he will lose". Somehow though, dude seems to get better with every fight....he provides the stuff that makes boxing exciting man....no bs excuses, fights whoever gets in the ring with him, and he wants to fight the perceived best in the world to be considered the best.

He brings the fans to their feet while others fight overmatched opponents and retire on a whim to avoid a tough fight. If that's why fans watch the sport, then maybe they should find another one....I like exciting boxing matches and Serg had yet to let me down.

Felix Sturm is the next best in the division.
