the track record of fighters wives being their managers are pretty poor, i don't see this one being any different, hopefully it will be the exception, but the facts are there throughout boxing history.......... and in other professions too.
all i know is, fighters being with this company and that company, is a divide and really shanghais the fan from seeing quality fights.......
like it was mentioned before, one company has X amount of fighters, the other has x amount, but non are going to really put the fights up that we want to see because one guy is with this company and the other with another, etc.
bottom line, it will only hurt the fans and leave criticism for the fighters if they don't fight the fights people want to see.
if mayweather fought who people that the real boxing fans want to see, he would be the most revered fighter in the sport, but as many other do, mayweather isnt the exception even without a promotional company owning him, he still plays the same game as they do, as with about 98% of the rest of the fighters out there, and it leaves a door wide open to criticize their choices and career, instead of leaving people without a shadow of doubt about how great the fighter is. company fighters fighting other company fighters is becoming a death of a thousand cuts to boxing.
some fights will be what we want, but most will be " i wish he was fighting this guy instead" the monopoly that promotional companies are trying to secure is draining boxing of it's life blood........
