Pac weighed in at 144 for the fight as well, it was only his ability that allowed him to beat the bigger guy.

If Pac were to fight Sergio, there would probably be more than 10lbs between them at the weigh in and nearly 30 lbs between them on fight night, it's just not realistic
It was the CW severely hurting Margo , its during the training to make the catch weight the damage is done , adding water the day before does not rebuild the weeks of too low a bodyfat which causes muscle wasting ,

with weight if you think of perfect health and say a prisoner of war ,, it goes from 10 untrained perfect , to 1 emaciated ,, with a professional athlete he hovers around 6-8 , that balances power and speed ,,, when he is around the bottom of his own personal threshold say 5-6 , and has to make a weight that is his 4 , he will hurt his system and definitely be slower with no zing and practicably no explosive power at all ,,,

dont be fooled by CWs not hurting them its totally different than going up a division or 2 , Roach is possibly the best trainer in the world , you think he dont KNOW the advantages he is getting at the catch weights ,,, why you think he was so rock solid and not budging on a lousy 2 lb that he wanted from Cotto ,,,,, he ***en knows and so do a lot of guys that know weight know whats going on ,,, Pac has been very well matched and managed , its a credit to them .

I'm not making excuses you fool, I like both of these fighters, I don't favour one over the other.
Marketing and reality are 2 very different things and your telling me to stop listening to promoters, it's you who is listening to promoters, I never said I consider him to be a light middleweight champion. I don't think Manny has EVER weighed in at more than 145. He may have beaten a guy who weighted in at 150 but thats only cause the guy is rubbish

Ok, so you believe Marg was seriously weight drained, fair enough. How does that add to the argument that Pac is a light middleweight fighter (or do you remember what were discussing here?).
I'm saying Pac is not really a light middleweight, and did not really win the title. Do you disagree?

Cotto weighed in at 146 in the fight before Pac, I know you may conveniently forget that. Be real here, Cotto would never have beaten Pac

I agree with you Pac is not a true 154 fighter he is WW , and he would get beat by a legit 154 champ at the weight that was slick and can box , he can get away with it as he did with CWs and slow plodding fighters , not Sergio types at their weight ,,,, I commented on your comment that Pacs skills allowed him to beat the bigger man ,,, if Margo was allowed to make 154 in a standard size ring instead of the monster they used that fight would have been very different , great match making cant take that away from them they know what they are doing to get maximum profits and guaranteed wins and be able to pull it over the average fan ..

First step to build a fanbase is to fight Cotto in a PPV in order to leech off some of Cotto's Hispanic fanbase. A 24/7 would be a must. After beating Cotto in a specular fashion, you could bet Martinez' popularity will skyrocket. Just like when Pacquiao beat De La Hoya.

Then he'll be big enough to at least sell well against Pacquiao. Won't beat any records, but it'll still be huge.
