Plus, neither guy the bro's are fighting is actually exciting themselves. I know Haye's fans love to say he is the most exciting fighter since Tyson, but all of his fights at heavyweight have been horrible to watch. He throws very few punches, and spends most of his time posing. But unlike most of the people saying Haye is exciting, you actually watch the fights. You know this. No, the division is ass, regardless of the outcome of either fight. Even when the brothers retire, it will still be ass.
Hey, if we get some genuinely entertaining back and forth out of a fight or two, that's a positive. It won't matter who wins (and a fight that made people say DAMN would mean a rematch almost certainly).

I'm trying to say something nice.

Now this viewpoint, I can accept.

But this is the usual view when one guy dominates. Because how can a division be great if one guy is beating them all? After a long time, people start to appreciate that one guy, because they have to. The accumulation of wins/Title Defenses leaves them no choice.

Usually the divisions who were considered great, were those when fighters were trading wins and losses amongst each other in a Three-Way. Barrera, Morales, Pacquiao at Featherweight. The Fight Of The Year component doesn't hurt either. Bernard Hopkins takes flack for beating Great small fighters coming up (HOpkins, Delahoya) but nevermind that the rest of his title defenses came against natural Middleweights - and the only thing standing in their way of potential greatness was Hopkins himself.

Marvin Hagler beating up on smaller greats (Duran, Hearns) on top of beating real Middleweights who's resume isn't as great as Hearn's, but you never know how good they were. It's the nature of the beast.

With that said, I'll take one great fighter separating himself from the rest of the crop, then a division where the World Title (or Titles) are being passed around quicker than a 5 dollar Tijuana Hooker.

No no, They fight fat guys. Sure some fat guys are good, but great? Nope not unless your butterbean. Who's only great for being the ATB fat fatty. I didn't make any claims of the division being weak. Just the guys who are getting title shots. America is mostly to blame, but one still wonders why make these fights. If you didn't know anything about boxing and you saw a Vitali VS Solis promo just based on body type you know who's winning. As a fan of the brothers don't you ever want to see them beat up someone that actually intimidates you? Someone who's body suggests they've put time in the gym. I'm excited about Haye vs Wlad mostly because they're just about the only HW's who aren't fat. Haye's got a decent cruiser record but what did he do at HW? Fought fat ****ers. This fight is the first high skill low fat fight in like 6 years are so. I can't even begin to assume whats going to happen when these guys fight someone who can actually move. On both ends neither fighter has had to face the threat of fighting a peak shape fighter for years.

            So Albert Sosnowski is fat?

            How about Shannon Briggs?

This is the part where someone tells me that Boxing isn't a Bodybuilding contest.

I don't think its gonna get any better anytime soon. Mms has stolen the interest away from boxing, along with other sports.

The heavyweight division has really taken off in Europe. After owning the lineal heavyweight championship for nearly the entire twentieth century, the pool of great heavyweights coming out of American has dried up for the time being.

Writers need to quit *****ing and let Europe shine.

I realise you're taking the piss, but Odlanier Solis has actual pedigree. In fact, his pedigree is greater than most in history coming into the pros, yet just have a look at what turns up in the ring these days and you'll see what that pedigree brings us.

The fat prick had a shot at being a real challenger and literally ate himself out of contention. Vitali, even if he wasn't that good a fighter, would most likely kick his ass just because he's a pro and in shape. Add in that he's a great fighter and Solis stands not a chance.

Of course, but it's still shows that someone trains hard. Being a great fighter has more to do with weight rather than being fat or not fat. You need to be at a good weight. A natural weight. Having extra muscle adds too much weight and having ten tons of fat kills stamina, balance, power etc. As we knew, Shannon 'The Asthma Cannon' Briggs was 200 years old and shot whereas Sosnowski was just ****.

We need contenders like the Klitschko's. Real pros that have actual skill in fighting. Haye is worthy as is Adamek but they aren't exactly great heavyweight material. Haye will always provide a great fight at the very least because he's chinny and vulnerable. Adamek is too small though I think.
