Thread title should be: 'Will US Heavyweight Boxing Stop Sucking in 2011?' because we all know that's why the division gets so much criticism.

I just wish there were real contenders to push the champs. No way to know how good anyone can be if they're fighting **** fighters.

Lyakhovich-Brewster was a great fight indeed.

I'm not excited by Adamek vs a Klitschko, Adamek is playing way out of his league. He can't even safely dispatch the likes of Grant.........

Those are the facts, indeed. When will the LHW division stop sucking so much that a 45 year old MW can beat the top LHW?

Yeah, but you see, Hopkins is an (African) AMERICAN, so that's OK.

The heavyweight division "sucks" to these writers because American heavyweights can't beat the Klitschkos.

If Arreola had KO'd Vitali, you would be hearing about the great "revival" of heavyweight boxing.

The double standards of some of these boxing "journalists" (and I use that term loosely, because journalists are supposed to have some kind of objectivity) are amazing.

They are fighting good fighters, guys who would be HW champions if they weren't around.

Your real complaint is that they make the best of the rest look so bad.

They are victims of their own success.

The heavyweight division is thriving in Europe!

The Klitschkos, Pulev, Boytsov, Helenius, Price, Chisora, Fury, Glazkov, Adamek, etc.

It only sucks in the US.

An indication of how comparably bad it is in the US: the best prospect Deontay Wilder is fighting tomato cans, while the best up-and-coming European HWs are fighting contenders and fringe contenders.

                Examples:

                Helenius is fighting Sam Peter
                Glazkov is fighting Denis Bahktov
                Pulev fought Dominick Guinn

The American boxing writers who whine about the HW division all the time can't bring themselves to admit that they are just jealous.

If Wlad and Vitali were named Wally and Vic and were from Cleveland, we wouldn't hear a word about how "bad" the division is.

You'd think they would just give it up and admit the truth by now, but some of them have blinkers on and/or are just ******.

with haye stating he wants an early retirement and vitali not getting younger, the future of the hw´s looks awful.

im not a klitscko fan, but when those guys retire, there wont be any quality left in the division.

i havent heard about anyone coming through the ranks, where the general consensus is, that this is a real talent.

What we might get, is a more equal division in terms of talent and ability, but thats going to be at an ability and quality llevel, that will surpass the worst of the wort eras, in hw boxing.

                      Will heavyweight boxing stop sucking?

What do you go through the message boards and pick out articles to post? It's def not close to being professional. Stop Sucking? lol Boxing scene is great, but sometimes i scratch my head on the choice of articles..leave this for the boards.
