iirc martinez didnt start to box, until quite late, so if that is correct, then margaritos win, isnt that significant. doesnt hurt to have it his resume, but not a significant win.

compared to pac, well he was a champion and a win over a champion, must be judged to be better. Better than a win over martinez, who wasnt competing, ationship level, t that time.

Back then,11 years ago,it was a good win.But when *******s like Puga bring up that win from 11 years ago as part of an argument as to why Martinez can't beat Pacman now,is just plain ****** & ignorant.Currently Margarito isn't that same fighter from 11 years ago.He may have been better as recently as 2008,but after the Cotto fight he's been on the fast track down hill.

That ***** is ancient history, Sergio is a completely different fighter. He has evolved just like Pac did after his losses.

It's a good win. They were both coming up in the ranks at the time and the fact that Margarito went on to be a champion who is still active today, and still considered to be a threat just makes it more valid. Torrecampo not once became champion moreover considered a top 10 best p4p fighter so comparing the Margarito and Torrecampo situation is totally ridiculous to the 10th power.

It was a good win. Margarito wasnt exactly prime either and Martinez was the favourite.

I look at beating a green opponent the same as beating an over the hill opponent, for example if Pacquiao beats Mosley he will still get plenty of credit for it. However if he fought and defeated Mosley in between Shanes fights with Margarito and Mayweather the pound for pound debate (which is already quiet due to Floyds innactivity) silent.

From certain people he will. Especially if he stops him, like I think he will.
