Maybe if Sergio continues to dominate opponents for the next few years or so he will enjoy the luxury that manny enjoys now. Pac used to be expected to lose to the DLHs of this world. But that was many moons ago now.
When Pac was beating highly rated fighters like Barrera and Co the ratings still had Floyd above Pac even though some may have believed Pac deserved the spot. It took pac many great performances to enjoy the position he is in now.
Sergio is doing his apprenticeship. There is no shortcut and cheerleading him wont fool anyone.Comment

Diaz, Hatton, Cotto, Margarito, Clottey all acknowledge they lost to the worlds best fighter. When Sergio gets that acclaim from his opponents, rather than Sergios fans, then we will know Sergio has arrived. And no Pavlik, PW and Co dont think Sergio is THE best boxer in the world. Pavlik thinks BH beat him better, and PW thinks he would beat Sergio if they ever fought, plus they think Pac is the best.
But until then, being p4p no3 isnt too bad an achievement.Last edited by hugh grant; 03-14-2011, 02:44 PM.Comment

Clottey never shows up to a big fight. But you're right he wasn't bad. In fact, forget that Manny could've fought Floyd instead. Given the Cotto bout, Manny had every right to a tune-up. Except...he's now taking his third mediocre fight in a row, and got the fourth lined up (Cotto-Margarito winner).Comment
