Is Cotto, Clottey, Margarito : cherry picked fight?

Not true. Pacquiao was a monster favorite over Clottey. That doesn't sound like an easy fight. Hell, I picked Clottey to quit. Most Pac fans worry about Manny's health like he's their dad so maybe they were worried but if Clottey fought on even terms with Cotto, what was he going to do against Manny?

pac was a big favorite but I think everyone thought the fight would be more competitive than it was.

I think the pattern here is they are all top rank fighters.

Both of their losses is against the big names of 147, there is no ashamed on that. With that said they both have wins against the same big names on 147 also. And only PAc have wins on two of them without losing. And thats big accomplishment.

marg was bad because he got totally mopped up in his last meaningful fight and had done nothing since.

at least clottey even though he lost to cotto can be argued he beat cotto and at minimum gave cotto a tough fight.

Clottey never shows up to a big fight. But you're right he wasn't bad. In fact, forget that Manny could've fought Floyd instead. Given the Cotto bout, Manny had every right to a tune-up. Except...he's now taking his third mediocre fight in a row, and got the fourth lined up (Cotto-Margarito winner).
