Martinez beat Cintron twice in 1 fight.Put on a fight of the year performance against the Punisher in a tight, close fight.Got cherrypicked by the lineal middleweight champ only to abuse him with 1 of the best 4 pieces I've seen in boxing. Then he beheaded the Punisher in the rematch & just got finished stopping an undefeated jr.middleweight champ.

Instead of criticizing a man that got his the hard way,U should expect more from the guys ranked ahead of him.
an over the hill mosley who was being hyped to kingdom come after ko'ing another overrated fighter in antonio margarito

but that's besides the point, cuz all of you then thought he was a beast

I agree but he's making a healthier case than Floyd or Pac when you compare their activity over the last 12 months.

Neither should be number 1 or two based on their activity.

Last 12 months? so p4p ranking is based on last 12 months, good to know that.

Of course. If they went back any further than that, it wouldn't look too good

when you've been ontop awhile, you fight big names, it's never enough, not unless they are peaked and coming off a big win

if your an average contender, you can fight an unproven bum, beat him and get praise beyond belief

when sergio becomes more widely considered p4p #1, after 1 or 2 fights he will be considered to be fighting bums and cherrypicks, cuz the guys he's fighting aren't number 2 or 3 p4p and are'nt prime, undefeated beasts

it happens to EVERY p4p #1 fighter

I'd think who you've fought and what the results have been would have a significant bearing on being regarded P4P king.

                  No?

Consensus is Pacquiao and Floyd as the top two by almost everyone. Interchangeable depending on the severity of denial in Mayweather fans, I guess.

Why should Sergio surpass Floyd? Same reason anyone else will these days. Activity. Against good opposition. He beat the undisputed middleweight champion and blitzed Williams who was making waves in the rankings.

Why should Sergio surpass Pacquiao? Personally, I don't think he should, but there's an unhealthy majority of people who **** on the opposition of practically every single Pacquiao fight, or cry conspiracy, weight-drain, Et cetera. So if that's how they feel, they would put Martinez above him.

Like I said, I can see how certain people would elevate him above either. Personally, I have Martinez sandwiched between the two.

                    No ****.
Yes that how we feel, We are tired of seeing him make easy fights and looking for advantages while proclaiming he's the best, We are tired of people telling us he's small while he goes up and pick on slow asss guys, You can cry all you want about how people feel about Pac's opponents but its the true and it hurts people like you, Its nice and easy when its Mayweather's name but when its Pacquiao's name you guys start crying..Well get over it.

It would be cool to see him try to unify at 160 like Hopkins did.
