If this how they do the p4p ranking now. Beating 2 men in one division that you can't even call them great in their own right. Then we should start doing now this to all the other boxers out there. Hmmnn. Where should I start first?

I just don't get why people says that he shouldn't fight Pacquiao or Mayweather.

Pacquiao considers himself a 154 pounder champion, but he is not until beat Martinez.

      The same thing for Mayweather.

And Martinez is a very very small MW, some people says that he should fight Bute or Ward, come'on, he just moved to MW... :x

Those fights make sense and i favor Pacquiao and Mayweather, i believe they are greater.
Should be P4P# 4 or 3 but P4P# 1 after beating Palvik and Dzinziruk? William beat him before so its even.

Absolute nonsense to even have Martinez in the discussion for #1. I'd still have JMM over him tbh.

The man is fighting legitimate contenders. He has fought his toughest challengers wheras the guys at the top of the P4P tree have been cherry picking.

They have got lazy. Sergio's star has been rising whilst Pac/May have been lowering the bar.

Sergio has been working hard and pulling off convincing wins against top competition. May, Pac, Cotto, Margarito, Marquez, Hopkins...those guys have not been doing that.

Notice how no-one is mentioning Canelo? Because everyone knows the boy would get smashed.

How about Angulo next followed by Marg-cotto winner?

Its too premature calling him no. 1 right now. Maybe a dominating win even against a past his prime light heavyweight champ and cruiserweight champ will do.

I don't see Mayweather or Pacquiao fighting Martinez considering how big he is now. Considering who all 3 of these guys are fighting are not that great imo. I could see if they were beating guys like Froch is atm though. I don't even like Froch but he is beating real competition atm.

You can make a case for him being number one quite easily, actually. Before I state the reasons, I'll say I personally don't have him as best pound-for-pound, but that's besides the point.

Consensus is Pacquiao and Floyd as the top two by almost everyone. Interchangeable depending on the severity of denial in Mayweather fans, I guess.

Why should Sergio surpass Floyd? Same reason anyone else will these days. Activity. Against good opposition. He beat the undisputed middleweight champion and blitzed Williams who was making waves in the rankings.

Why should Sergio surpass Pacquiao? Personally, I don't think he should, but there's an unhealthy majority of people who **** on the opposition of practically every single Pacquiao fight, or cry conspiracy, weight-drain, Et cetera. So if that's how they feel, they would put Martinez above him.

Like I said, I can see how certain people would elevate him above either. Personally, I have Martinez sandwiched between the two.

                    No ****.
