Wouldn't want to see it, myself. He's a pleasant fella.

      depends on where you're from.

in america, hamed's known less than over the sea...this is understandable, seeing as he's a british great

Forget America, where he was merely well-known. Hamed was an international crossover superstar. Global. Maybe some people don't appreciate or weren't aware of this.

That kind of transcendent impact is unprecedented for a small man out of boxing.

The dominant heavyweight who inspires awe with his boundless charisma (Ali) or with sudden and brutal finishes (Tyson) will always carry with him that ultimate mystique, that extra, world-conquering, 'baddest man on the planet' cache.
That has to be understood first. Then you can consider Hamed's feat in fairer (more proportionate) comparative terms; and that feat was creating a worldwide perception of himself as a giant, a breaker of men, propelling himself to global superstardom from the featherweight division, a division of small men. I'd strongly argue for that impact to be considered equivalent (or almost equivalent) to Tyson's.

If you were young when Nazzy was in his pomp, you'll remember how he captured imaginations and how huge of a presence he was. The kids and the man on the street didn't even think of him as a featherweight; he was simply a destroyer and his name was as reknowned as Tyson's and Ali's in the playgrounds.

Naseem Hamed is one of the biggest boxing brandnames of All-Time.
Saying "wicked" every sentence doesn't count as charisma compared to Ali or Tyson he is nothing. He could just show boat better than most and when things didn't go his way he didn't have true determination. Plus showing off in your flash car like a fool and nearly getting people killed probably doesn't help your case of getting in either.

Except you don't get in the HOF from popularity and it doesn't really matter where he is from.

Naz had as much charisma as Ali and much more than Tyson.

What does his personal life have to do with it?

As much charisma as Ali man your a clown. Name me one quote from Hamed off the top of your head you could name about 10 with Ali. He is a known d i c k head as well ask Eubank. If people don't like you they aren't gonna vote you in so actually his personal life probably does have a lot to do with it.

Everyone makes mistakes in their lives and Hamed has stated that he deeply regrets the car accident he was involved in.

That has absolutely nothing to do with him getting in the HOF though.

If it did, do you think Tyson would be in the HOF?

Yeah cos you say it, it must be true. Barry actually fought quite a pressure style like Barrera and how did Hamed fair against that?
