I just dont completely buy into the Martinez hype train.

Cotto would be the best fighter Martinez has faced and Martinez really struggles to make 154 while Cotto is very comfortable at it.

I guess this weekend will be a good indicator of where both fighters are.

You are a dumb ass sorry to say. How is this weekend gona be an indicator when one guy martinez is fighting the best 154 punder and undefeated tittle holder while cotto is facing and an old as **** mayorga who isnt even very good only at talking?

Well if Cotto struggles then I would change my opinion.

Or likewise if Cotto boxes good and puts Mayorga away like he is expected too then Martinez struggles against a good boxer I would stand with my opinion.

Also if Martinez blows Sergei away I would probably favor Martinez more in a Cotto - Sergio fight.

If you dont realize that Pac and Martinez have completely different styles and are completely different fights for Cotto then you're opinion is worthless.

Who is saying that their styles are similar? What i am saying is cotto would loose to both. And again one is fighting the best 154 pounder and is expected to have a tought fight while the other guy is fighting bum who he is supposed to blow out. I cant see how you could be impresed if cotto koed mayorga when that is expected.

Oh come on. I'd be very surprised if Sergei gets past Sergio. And I picture Cotto having his hands full with Mayorga. Only time will tell though, I suppose. Styles DO make fights, and I could be completely wrong here.

Just meet in the middle, since both of them dont fit 147lbs anyway.
i guess it depends on what belt will be at stake

                if its JMM's, then its 135, if it's Pac's, then its 147

but it looks like JMM is the one who's chasin so probably it'll be at 147

Exactly. A lot of Cotto love in this thread. It's not exactly a forgone conclusion that Martinez would beat Cotto, of course not. But it *is* about 80/20 in Martinez's favor if you ask me. Cotto went life and death with Clottey FFS! Let's be real here!

Make it at 140lbs, or don't make it all. Even at 140lbs, JMM is way above his natural weight class.

For real martinez will be there all nigh long dude took shots from a bug middleweight and a big puncher in pavlik and wasnt even hurt once. He will be in cottos face all night long and i think would not respect cottos power like margarito didnt. Any thing could happen but i would put anything that sefio wins. And pac ****s cotto no matter what and he will also beat marquez at this point. The 3rd fight should of happend after the david diaz fight at 135.
