Canelo is the real deal. He can compete with any welterweight and junior middleweight in the world. I believe De la hoya when he says he wants to make the best fights. I don't think he will milk this kid like Aurum has done with Chavez jr. Alvarez is already a WORLD CHAMPION something Aurum has not been able to do with Chavez Jr. Alvarez has already faced tougher opponents than any 20yr old out their. I don't think Alvarez is that concern with him losing that ZERO. He's an exciting fighter with a bright future. Only boring, runners,and talkers need that ZERO to be profitable in the sport. Alvarez says he is going to fight a top five contender for his upcoming tittle defenses and i believe that. 2-3 tittle defenses and he might be ready for Pacquiao. The only threat to him right now is Alfredo Angulo. But that will be a hell of a fight if it happens. Good fight for the fans, a good fight for Mexico, and a great fight for the ages.

I don't hate Canelo, he's a big plus to boxing. If he can attract huge crowds like that on his own accord, he'll do more good than harm to the sport. I was even planning to go to his fight last Saturday (an hour and 15 minute drive for me) but something important came up, but some of my friends went, and they're all mixed varieties (Mexicans, Caucasians and Asians).

The thing is, if you're the champ, you'll be the primary target. If you think he needs more seasoning, then he should have politely decline the offer by Sulaiman, because the belt comes with a responsibility to defend it from ANYONE who's in line...

You do realize that compared to other 20 year old fighters he is 100 times more advanced than all of them.

Cotto, Baldo, Ndou, and hatton are all seasoned vets despite what you say and all of them except Hatton have been in world title bouts. Hell one was even the undisputed welterweight champion of the world!

Leonard is a seasoned vet, ATG, and has been in many title fights...hell he even beat Hagler, and Hearns. OOOH speaking of Hearns I heard his old as.s was looking to come back. If Canelo were to fight him and beat him then he would be ATG 2.
