Just as long as he is fighting legit and good 154lbers and not WWs or old guys I will not knock him.

Ultimately we can easily blame Sulaiman the WBC, and GBP for putting him in as champ, but he's there and he's got to make good.

He most likely will get another softball next, then he should get a top 5 guy.

Some guys do hold the title hostage.

I think a lot of us are afraid Canelo is 20 is a little too convenient excuse.

I sincerely hope we are proven wrong and that after a soft touch, he takes on some guys who won all kinds of eliminators to be in there to get their chance.

I mean even though Powell is not well know among casuals he is a good fighter and I would be very impressed if Canelo was to beat him.

yeah im with on that. what i want to see is he fight 154lbers and legit fighters if he is going to keep the belt and fight a few of them like 3 or maybe 4 before he even thinks about fighting guys like cotto mosley margs angulo cintron bc those fighters would beat him right now and possibly ruin him.

but why are people all ready acting like he is going to fight some softball? Sure he fought mat and baldomir who where welters but that was for a reason bc canelo wanted to campain at welter and win his first belt there. He went at it the wrong way though with the bs catch weights.

3 or 4 fights could string out to a couple of years.

I think that's unfair to Ryan Rhodes and guys that had to go through hell to get a chance at the WBC title.

Maybe 1 or 2 soft touches, then Rhodes if he can beat him.

That would be a great test for him, and winnable if he has a good night.

I want to be wrong, believe me bro.

I think the whole idea of Hatton for a title makes us think it's gonna continue.

It's not just Spray. It's every fighter ranked by that organization.

Unified comes after he defends and fights other fighters. It means he's among the best in the world and takes on challenges.

Canelo should be expected to fight a top 5 guy ranked by his organization if he has the belt.

Otherwise, he can give it up if he likes.

We don't have to like the status quo.

Most of us want a title to mean something.

To act like it means nothing at all is an insult to a lot of fighters.
you know in reality its not like that right? who you know and obviously winning gets you belts in some cases. it sucks, but its true. how many times have we seen champs defending belts against fighters who didn't deserve that shot? alvarez will deff be fighting top opposition IN the future (after 2 fights like he said he wanted) and he can do so with DLH and sulaiman on his side.

not the way he is going. I think it would be like a whole year.
And yea i agree rhodes is the one being left out and he should get his shot. But canelo needs to improve a lot if he wants to be succesfull. He needs a new trainer and a conditioning coach.
