    SRL? YES

Ali, Tyson, Pac? YES around the world.

    *****S are jealous? YES
Don't even compare Ali and Tyson to Pac.

Ali and Tyson fought all over the world, which is why they were more recognized. Pac fights ONLY in the US. Same with Floyd. Same with SRL. They're big in America, are they big in Asia? Who knows, we'll never find out that's for sure. Until they fight in different countries we have no idea how big there following actually is. I'd love to see Pac go to Japan and see if he can sell out the Saitama Super Arena. Will it happen? Hell no. At the same time I'd love to see Floyd go to Canada and sell out the Skydome. Will it happen? Hell no.

So how can you explain to me Pac is known more world wide when you nor no one else in this thread knows the numbers. They don't know the ratings he gets when he's on TV, they don't know the number of viewers. All of this is OPINION, not Actual fact.

Tell me you dont think that.
Yes they are, however, I don't belive DLH and FMJ (we were talking post Tyson era) have anywhere near the same recognition in Asia and perhaps even Europe.

      My populatity estimates
North America - edge to DLH
      South America - Pac
      Europe - probpably FMJ
      Asia - Pac hands down
      Africa - toss up
      Australia - DLH

Once again though, we're not arguing who is the most popular, we're talking about who promoted the sport more. Who inspired people to follow boxing or pick up a pair of gloves. Who made people stop and want to learn more about him and his sport. All intangibles that PPV #'s cannot show.

cause pac is as tough at the negotiation table as wifebeater is

I mean afterall when Floyd first mentioned Pac accepted. Then they backtracked.
c'mon burner... this is pac we're talking about.

This is the same guy that signed with GBP and TR at the same time. Pac has a history of backtracking.

this last point is a non-point.

the Saitama Super Arena has like under 37,000 seats. i'm pretty sure pac will almost fill those seats up. i mean, the last time he fought in japan was when he was a nobody.

and me being canadian. hockey>boxing here obviously. in the newspapers under the sports sections, boxing isnt even mentioned. so youre right about floyd not being popular in canada.

Ali and Tyson. Ali was the pretty boy, and Tyson was unpredictable violence. They are the iconic names of boxing and always will be. 2 Completely different people brought so many fans to the sport of boxing. Guys like Pac, DLH brought two completely different fan bases. Pac brought Filipinos and DLH brought women to the sport. Ali and Tyson brought in fans world wide. There's a HUGE difference. If you go around asking random people who know nothing about boxing who Ali or Mike Tyson was HUGE chance they'd know. Ask those same people who DLH was or who Pacquiao is.

Give it time, Tyson and Ali weren't as known while they were fighting as they are now. Of course millions of people watched their fights and alot of people heard about them but time allowed books, movies, and their legends to grow.

We're not comparing Pac to Tyson or Ali, the issue that was brought up was that ther'es probably nobody SINCE Tyson that has done more for the sport.

I completely disagree with the bold. Ali and Tyson fought outside of the U.S. on a few occassions. When they came to town that **** was like some rock stars coming to town. I would dare to say that Tyson was more known while he was fighting and Ali's fame has grown since his retirement because of the issues he stood for while fighting and being denied his right to fight.

No disrespect to Manny but I swear Manny is not as big or famous as people on here want to make him out to be. The man is very rich and famous but just not on the level some want everybody to believe.

i was happy he was willing to stand his ground because he doesnt have to prove anything but at the same time im a fight fan that wants to see this fight. so if he was willing to compromise then fine and if pac is willing to do random to get the fight done then ill be fine with that to. but what i have seen is one party trying to negotiate while the other is doing **** but discrediting pac through the media.
Manny may very well hate getting his blood drawn. But for the life of me I can't get why people can't see the other side of this ****. Look at like this before Manny ever put on those gloves or socks he had his blood drawn. So he already knew going into the fight he didn't feel right. So how is the first things out of his mouth after the fight about socks and gloves and not blood?
