Don Sulaiman should reprimand himself for allowing Saul Alvarez to fight for a title instead of giving the higher ranked fighters who have earned it a chance. He should also realize that he is a hypocrite for allowing this title fight to be with an opponent (Hatton) who is not even in the 154 weight class. Bunch of crooked ass manipulators. I hope Canelo gets dropped so it can back fire on them, but considering the opposition it probably wont happen. Same thing is happening with Chavez Jr. Sulaiman wants these two young men to become champs at any costs, except allowing them to fight true worthy opponents.

Don't fret so much--- Mexicans fight the best so we're not hiding behind the WBC and the WBC doesn't hide Mexican fighters.

What i dont get is why let the fight continue then stop it immediately after? That means that he knew in how bad of a shape montiel was in before he let nonito tag him with a couple more shots. It should be a crime to let a half unconscious guy continue against a devastating puncher. Thats what makes this so bad,1 more hard left hook could have ended his life. And the 1st mistake he made was taking his eyes off of montiel while he was on the ground disconnected from his brain shaking violently. Then he seen him roll around unable to get his legs under him. Lol, i cant believe how many ignorant idiots we have on here who agree with the refs actions.

Kinda like Puerto Rico's WBO putting on WV2 vs Jorge Arce or WV2 and I already forgot that Mexican Wilfredo fought the last time right?

Anyway, on topic, i hope this starts a trend for belt organizations and/or athletic commissions to reprimand refs when they do a poor job. I mean, i can name many times joe cortez and laurence cole completely blew it and they keep getting more ref gigs. Maybe a system should be set up where with each blown call (especially if it directly reflects damage to a fighter) should get a ref reprimanded. Say, first one is a warning and after that, each one results in being suspended where the third or fourth time, you get banned for life or something like that. That way, it would keep the refs from being biased (i.e. Joe cortez) and keep them on their toes from making bs decisions. What happened to the mills lanes and mitch halperns of the world...
great post. And good thing we still have steele, weeks and smoger. Raul caiz jr looks promising too.

Great point! Everyone does what they do and have their own reasons but the fighters fight knowing the potential consequences, whether they are Mexican, P. Rican, Irish, etc. Suliaman may be alot of things and may play favoritism but the fighters still have to fight and I believe if the circumstances were reversed (Donaire being flattened like that and then allowed to continue), you would be hearing the same uproar from at least the fans anyway. Bottom line, it is what it is and Montiel was not seriously hurt, which is all that really matters...

Thanks for the props. Yes, Raul Caiz Jr does look promising and Weeks and Smoger are pretty good! I haven't seen Steele in years, if you are are referring to Richard Steele? Does he still ref?

Sulaiman's favorite color is green-- as in money. He's not too ethnocentric. He had no problems stating how many Mexicans Pacquiao has beaten during his weigh-in with Margarito-- for the whole world to hear. Yeah, glad Montiel is ok too. Today's boxers are so much more powerful than yesteryears because the pool of talent is so much bigger. I love boxing but I also wouldn't mind too much if boxing were to get banned-- too many people getting hurt or suffering some kind of permanent damage. Laters kid!
