Haye needs to fight a Klitschko in order to remain popular. He is not popular in his own right.
well, I think you are largely spot on, though I think you are downplaying the merit of a mandatory defence against a former world champion or an unbeaten warrior. Sure it's a real drop-off from a Klitschko fight, but Sky could easily hype up these fights and **** them on a PPV card and Haye would fill the O2 or MEN with either.

The gulf between a Klitschko and either of them is big, but the gulf between them and Harrison is bigger.

update: SKY just announced Chagaev has been officially turned down by the BBB of C.
What a non-surprise, eh? Poor Chaggy.

I think you're overestimating the British boxing viewing public's intelligence a bit there. They will buy whatever Sky tells them to buy.

If you are agreeable, I am prepared to bet 100,000 with you that Klitschko is NOT KO's within 6 rds, another 100,000 that he is NOT KO'd at all, and 97,000 that Klitschko wins the fight......that is if it happens at all.

If I lose all bests I'm wiped out but since this is my first bet on Boxing Scene, I may as well do it properly.

Are you giving any odds on any of these?

What is it with you Haye fans and just making things up? He never ducked anyone, has fought the best comp around, and it isn't even like Haye has looked so spectacular that anyone who was any good would be afraid of him.

Its highly unlikely that he has gone to great lengths and is the one with everything to lose and just has a somewhat good name on his resume gain, then is going to turn around and find a way to not fight him.

It was Wlad after all who was ready and willing to show up for Haye June 2009.

No use talking facts to a Hayeophile. They live in an alternative, fact-free universe.

Sorry but at this point I need to hear more than a tweet saying "something is brewing"

...... Man that fight has been brewing for several years now. Get on with it!
