If by some miracle Haye beats one of the Klitschkos, a defence against Chagaev or Povetkin would be huge. A year ago a defence against either of them would have been pretty big. But now, with Haye having been talking recently about retiring without ever fighting either of the brothers, I don't think anyone is interested in seeing him fight anyone whose surname isn't Klitschko. The public have finally lost patience with him. So Haye vs. Povetkin or Chagaev in May would have bombed, and I'm pretty sure that's why Sky pulled the plug on it and forced him to go back into negotiations with K2.

So why do you think Sky pulled the plug on Haye? I can't think of any explanation that makes sense other than the one I gave in the post you were replying to.
The British boxing public and media have shown truly shameful nuthuggery so far, but even they have their limits.
I'm pretty sure Sky did some private polling and discovered that people would not be willing to pay to watch Haye fight anyone other than the Klitschkos any more.Comment

There's a hell of a lot more than one tweet - you should keep up. It's obvious that they are close to signing. But Booth and other sources have made it clear that nothing is likely to be announced before Monday or Tuesday, so you'll just have to wait.Comment

Not in my lifetime.
I've said it many times before and I'll say it again and again. Haye aaaain't got the ba!!s for for it. Not untill I see Haye face to face with either Klitschko in the ring.Comment

This better be free. This fight would have been great 3 years ago now its like both granpas going for retirement fight. At least, in Mosley vs Pacquiao you got a dog ready to be shot while the other younger dog strangles it in place.
