Calzaghe did well and beat the two legends, Hopkins was as deadly as ever, Jones was way past it.

I think Jones beats Calzaghe prime4prime. But to discredit his win against Hopkins is just mad.

I say **** it, what happened in the ring when it finally went down is truth.

I feel like I'm in that scene in Coming to America when Eddie Murphy's barber character says "Joe Louis was 75 years old" when asked about his loss to Marciano. The problem is all 3, Jones, Clazaghe, and Hopkins were old. Unlike your boy Holmes against Ali which you mentioned right?

By the way Holmes is the most underated Heavyweight ever and no I don't know if Ali beats him 9 out of 10 times "in his prime".
Hey super girl, if you had any idea of what you were talking about I might take you seriously but it seems to me that you really REALLY get all emotional when I bring up the fact that he clearly fought them when they were shells of what they used to be. you say that Calzaghe was old and not in his prime right? well if youre honest with yourself and not a Calzaghe ball dangler like you seem youll admit that Calzaghe was still in his prime or damn close to it compared to Jones and Hopkins. Calzaghe was 37 when he fought them if im not mistaken and he looked to be still in his prime or damn near it just like Marquez is 37 right now and still fighting and appears to be in his prime as well. Some fighters although close in age fade faster than others because of the style that the employ. Slick guys who rely on their reflexes and athleticism last only as long as their fast twitch muscles allow them too and Jones is that guy. In his prime he was so fast and so unorthodox that fighters couldnt time him, didnt know where the punch was coming from and still had to deal with the fact that he had KO power in either hand. a Prime Jones rarely sat on the ropes and allowed you to work, that was something that he started doing once his balance and confidence went out the window add that to his loss of reflexes and you have the guy a near his prime Calzaghe beat. Thats the ****ing truth buddy deal with it or not but thats the ****ing truth!

A prime Jones kills Calzaghe, decapitates him. Matter of fact if that had been a prime Jones in there with Calzaghe in the first round when your man crush got dropped he would have never made it out of the round he would have been another highlight reel of Jones KOs. Once Tarver KOd Jones, Jones was done, his confidence would never ever be the same because when you have a fighter that special, that gifted, his confidence is just as important if not more than his talent and once a fighters confidence goes especially when you firmly believed that you were untouchable youre as good as shot because your confidence is what allowed you to take those risks and fight in the manner that you did.

Even Ray Leonard said something along those lines that when he was on his historical run he was untouchable and felt untouchable but that once you lose and your confidence takes a hit you start to worry about the shots coming back at you and that in his prime he never even thought for a second about you being able to hit him back and he said thats the difference. I will repeat it and say it again and again no matter how many bull**** arguments you try to bring forth.............A prime Jones with his reflexes and his confidence in tact decapitates a prime Calzaghe easy!!!!

And plus the only reason you are saying that Calzaghe wasnt in his prime either is just because Calzaghe himself said that just because he was embarrassed that he got dropped in the first round by 2 fighters who he clearly knew where way past their primes. Trying to save face!

The truth is that Calzaghe was a good fighter, actually a very good fighter who just happened to come along at the right time and caught an old Hopkins and an old Jones at the perfect time and has 2 wins against them but he will be remembered for beating them when they were clearly past their primes and because of it wont get the credit he would have gotten if he had fought them in their prime. I know it bugs you and it pisses you off but theres nothing you can do about it no matter how much you whine and *****. It is what it is homey!

Just like Marciano doesnt fully get credit for beating an old Joe Louis Calzaghe doesnt get credit for beating 2 old fighters in Hopkins and Jones. You actually gave me ammo thanks buddy!

Your comment about "went it FINALLY went down is truth" is just laughable and shows without a doubt that your a rabid Calzaghe fanatic who wishes it was true but sorry buddy we live in the real world.

Oh and I agree with you about Holmes being an extremely underrated Heavyweight but I completely disagree with you that he would beat Ali even once. A prime Ali used Holmes as a chief sparring partner many times and Holmes learned alot from sparring Ali but if they went head up both in their primes Ali beats him everytime.

Look man I dont want you to hate me and cyberstalk me or anything like that so i guess we agree to disagree but just know that a large majority of boxing fans and writers agree with me and not you!

I would put his prime around Eubank to Kessler

Hopkins had no interest in fighting him, especially with the sweet deal he had with King, which guaranteed him a minimum of 1m per fight. Hence the reason he was pricing himself out of fights, left right and center

          • Hopkins and Jones Jr aside, Glen Johnson said Calzaghe ducked him 3 times in this audio interview from '09.

But I guess these sort of things boil down to he say, she say. No one knows all the facts for sure so ultimately it's based on whose side of the story you choose to have more faith in.

                Calzaghe pulled out injured.

People talk about Calzaghe being unknown but Glen Johnson was seen as a glorified journeyman at the time. Why would Joe "duck" him?

                • i dont think calzaghe ducked roy, cuz i doubt either of them really wanted the fight, but when the topic with him against roy was brought up he did say some suspect things

                  • Calzaghe was ducked by Hopkins and Roy rejected $5m to face him. Jermain Taylor was offered $4m and asked for $10m, Kelly Pavlik was twice offered fights. Whenever a fighter was offered a fight wih Calzaghe they started asking for ****** money or just rejected him. American fans hate Calzaghe, mostly African Americans. Joe broke there hearts so many times.
