I respect Calzaghe much more than I do Haye but it's time to recognise the similaries. Primarily, a complacency given by hero worship in Britain which resulted in both just wanting to milk their trinkets belts and cash out and get out while they could.
They left Warren. Which Calzaghe should've probably done. But then again, he didnt have the crossover appeal of those guys. He was 2nd fiddle to Hatton most of the time. Warren was a safe bet for him. His division was also pretty devoid of names.

I'll give the edge between Calzaghe and Froch resume wise to Carl. But honestly would we be talking about Carl as much now had it not been for the tournament? I was betting against Carl in those fights(except the Taylor fight although Carl was losing Taylor didn't seem the same to me and it showed in recent fights). I didn't think Carl was capable of boxing the way he did since he likes to brawl so much, but he impressed the heck outta me with the performance he put up against AA.

dont know anyone whos fought as many hard fights with top opponents in a row and away from home mostly,as what froch has done of late.

and to put in entertainng and good performances, thats game.

Froch i believe can win this whole thing.

last time he showed me he can box to a gameplan, use his brain, use his skills and not brawl always. he has the jab,the power, the reach, the chin, the better balance and movement.

no reason why he cant unify this divsion and win a title moving up a weight class.

back the corba, and enjoy the ride.

What but he has done.....is PROVE to us how good he is. He has the resume to prove it. When we analyse him hypothetically, he loses to everyone. Everyone is a bad style match up for him. In reality, he is a helluva fighter. He has PROVED this.

Look at Kessler. Looks like a million dollars against journeymen. Remember the buzz he used to get on these forums 4-5 years ago? He steps up to fight Calzaghe, Ward and Froch - suddenly he doesn't look like the second coming of Tommy Hearns.

How can we even judge Calzaghe's greatness when his resume is so thin on stellar names and challenges? How the **** can anyone defend Calzaghe waiting until he had a retirement plan set to finally come over to America, when Froch is doing what he is doing right now?
i dont think he is that good to be honest. he has proved he has heart and determination, but technically i dont think he is that good.
