Froch is a great example why resume is so important

Froch has been written off in nearly every fight starting with the Taylor one (I'll admit I've been guilty of that).

What but he has done.....is PROVE to us how good he is. He has the resume to prove it. When we analyse him hypothetically, he loses to everyone. Everyone is a bad style match up for him. In reality, he is a helluva fighter. He has PROVED this.

Look at Kessler. Looks like a million dollars against journeymen. Remember the buzz he used to get on these forums 4-5 years ago? He steps up to fight Calzaghe, Ward and Froch - suddenly he doesn't look like the second coming of Tommy Hearns.

How can we even judge Calzaghe's greatness when his resume is so thin on stellar names and challenges? How the **** can anyone defend Calzaghe waiting until he had a retirement plan set to finally come over to America, when Froch is doing what he is doing right now?

        I can't stand the guy.

I have predicted against him in every fight he's been in since Jermain Taylor.

But by god has the man earnt my respect.

I agree. Froch has proved me wrong over and over, and cannot be denied just how good he is. More fighters should take that example.

It wasnt really the case that he waited. The fights just werent there. I mean he signed to fight Hopkins in America. Froch is lucky that Showtime put together the tournament, otherwise he'd probably be languishing in obscurity with no one wanting to fight him. The Taylor fight almost didnt come off - remember "Who's Carl Froch?"

Khan is getting fights in America, Hatton got fights, Naz got fights, Lennox got fights. If Calzaghe wanted it, he could've got it. Showtime/HBO were broadcasting his fights in Britain. They would have taken him on board in a heart beat.

I respect Calzaghe much more than I do Haye but it's time to recognise the similaries. Primarily, a complacency given by hero worship in Britain which resulted in both just wanting to milk their trinkets belts and cash out and get out while they could.
