you've been around long enough mate to know what happens after a big fight on here, its normal,it happens every time,if the fighter wins big then he becomes one of the greatest and if he loses he's a bum and a hype job

I knew Donaire would get him, but I was thinking mid to late rounds.. Montiel is highly durable and does have skills, but still got starched.

It goes to show how speed can make a crisp puncher look so devastating. Donaire is not a P4P puncher like so many in here think, but hits hard enough and can deliver it without the opponent seeing it coming. That is all he needs.

It's easy to say alot of stuff after the fight but before the fight the guy that posted before me is right he said that everyone was making this a 50-50 fight which was a little true but I dnt think no one expected it to end like it did last night IMO

At first I thought the fight would be a war. But the more of Doanire and Montiel past fights I watched I knew it would be a slaughter in Donaires favor.

People are overrating Donaire and Montiel. Dopnaire is a great fighter but slow down people. Montiel was in over his head.
I'm just glad that people aren't posting Floyd/Pac threads today

When you have Barrera and Chavez Sr. dumbfounded in their front row seats, you have to over-react.

This is NSB, of course it is being over reacted.

But Donaire was incredible last night, it's understandable.

I disagree. Nonito Donaire is getting the praise he deserves.

Last year. In April people reacted in a similar when Fernando Montiel defeated Hozumi Hasegawa because Hasagawa was the lineal champion. That win made Fernando the lineal champion at bantamweight. Now, Nonito is the lineal champion.

That is why people are praising Nonito so much. It's because he defeated the lineal champion.

I have been Donaire for several years now and I have always said that given time, he will rise to the top as the cream of the crop always does. Montiel is a very good fighter and Hasegawa is an excellent boxer too. Donaire is smart, he studies the opponent and adapts.

Respectfully, I think you are selling Nonito short. I myself have taken a lot of heat before this fight for having Donaire on my personal P4P list so I have believde in the kid for a minute. But if you don't that's fine- but I think you have to at least give him credit for not just beating, but starching a consensus P4P'er on a serious KO streak. And IMHO Montiel is going to get back on track (provided this KO isn't career changing from a neurological standpoint) and continue to win and look impressive doing so.
