Why announce such a thing ahead of time and let the opposition know what your plans are?

The Klitschkos are fed up with Haye because of their past dealings with him, and they don't trust him.

Now, they've got him where they want him. He's given the world the date on which he will quit, so if he wants a mega-fight to retire on, he's now negotiating from a position of weakness, because time is not on his side.

The Klitschkos will put him though the ringer before he gets a deal, and see it as payback.

Like I said, very ****** move by David Haye.
Great post man, i too cant understand why telling that you will retire ahead of a time?I dont remember another top fighter who did that!

      God damn you're dumb.
He'll never fight Vitali, he's as close to undisputed as one could get. He completely dominates the division and fights undefeated contenders. I'm not even a huge Wlad fan and I can admit that. I don't really like the way he fights sometimes, but I can still appreciate some of the things he's accomplished.

If it makes you feel better to call names feel free, doesn't bother me.

I always find people like you amusing. You have probably never had the balls to step into a boxing ring yourself yet you have the nerve to label those who do as "cowards". Criticise all you want but no boxer should be considered a coward.

Here is the actual interview: I don't hear Wlad saying he won't take the July 2 date. He says if Haye won't sign for it, that's his problem.

its called common sense, if I told you next week with only 1 weeks prep I am running a 20 mile marathon, what chances do you think are me doing it? very very little mate

9 weeks is not enough time to rest, promote and train for a big fight, it is as simple as that, i dont care if you are in love with the klits or not, nobody would do that with a big fight coming

wlad has no intention to fight on july 2nd despite what he has said, he like haye has been proven to be a liar before as well

now with haye fighting on may 21st, the best thing everyone can do now is the following

vitali takes the adamek fight in sept instead of wlad, then haye and wlad negotiate again for a fight in august

I do kinda understand why wlad doesnt want to fight on july 2nd as he will be inactive too long but there is no excuse with his lies saying he will fight on july 2nd when anyone with half a brain knows he wont

Diva Hayefaker can retire with the legacy of a coward, joker, and vagina, or he can finally fulfill his boasts and promises for the past 3 years and fight a Klitschko, it's his choice really. Either way, the Klitschkos are getting that WBA belt, it's just a question of whether they are going to take it off Gayevid or someone else.

He's not really close at all to being undisputed. It would be one thing if Vitali was a mediocre, fringe contender/title holder. But I'd be hard pressed to see Wlad beating even a 40 year old Vitali.
