You cant change a tiger's stripe that quickly. Just look at pac & roach for example. it literally took years for pac to eventually evolve from one handed brawler into what he is right now.
So by your logic, Pac should have never hooked up with Roach

Point is that he has to start somewhere twicking his skills

im saying dont get too excited & expect results right away. its gonna take years before maidana even resembles fighting like marquez & chiquita gonzalez & that's if he shows the same dedication to changing his ways.

i agree with what your saying in that it takes some time to change a fighter...but dont you think this is a hell of a lot better than having a cutman as your head trainer??

Maidana's techincal ability is mediocre - I don't see how Nacho can turn him into some kind of technical fighter at this stage of his career. He needs a trainer like Goosen or Capetillo to enhance his current style and get him in tremendous condition to do what he does best - which is enforce relentless pressure.
While i do think Nacho is a good pick from the point of view that he can turn Maidana into a better all round fighter i agree with you that Capetillio and Goosen would have been better especially Capetillio who is known as having military styled camps to get fighters in unbelievable condition ala Tony Segura but as some have pointed out when he and Margo were suspended in the US to get their liscenses back a year later it was taught that if they didnt stay away from an actual boxing match in Mexico they wouldnt get their liscences back Marga didnt fight waited out his suspension and got his liscence back but Capetillio didnt he was in the corner of a few fighters so he basically has no chance of getting his liscence back now so that probably ruled him out

The best choice for Maidana might've been Rudy Perez, Nacho might not be the right fit for him right now.

                  Goooooooooooooooddddddddddddddddd !!!!!!

Nacho will put that good work on Maidana and make him better.

If he will stay with Nacho then he will get another fight down the road with Khan and avenge himself !!!

True boxing fans have got to love Morales. I hate it for him but its time to move over. I will gladly pay to see this fight. Morales is an all time great but past his prime badly and Maidana will KO Morales.

I couldn't agree with you anymore. Nacho is a great trainer but he only seems to work one style. Rudy Perez seems to work with the fighters' style. He did wonders for Rodrigo Barrios and only had him for like two fights. I wish Maidana all the luck in the world and even more luck to Morales. ¡Vamos Terrible. Tu puedes!

Maidana just made A GREAT CHOICE in not only getting a new trainer, but in the trainer he picked!! Beristain is 1 of the BEST trainers in the game & I'm sure that if Maidana pays attention & follows what Nacho tells him to do, he is gonna be a way better fighter & is going to became a world champ himself..Best of luck to "El Chino"!!
