Times have changed. Martinez and Cotto have increased their earning ability. Floyd can make his desired salary by fighting them. From a business perspective it makes sense.

Thats fine. I just know that floyd , like him or not, executed a great business plan that took him from a fighter who was the b side in a 330k ppv to the headliner of a 1.25 mil ppv. Bob Arum wanted floyd to be part of his business plan where all top rank guys fight one another and Bob makes the dough. he told Bob to go **** himself and I don't blame him one bit. Hopefully Manny catches on and does the same.

You are right. But Pac was the 154 lb champ until the other day so I'm not sure what your point is. Why won't Pac defend the 154 lb title?

To me this is the same isht he pulled after beating DIaz at 135. get a cheap title and bounce before you fight the good fighters at that weight.

when pac was sign to fight marg, pac and roach made it clear that this will be his only fight at that weight regardless of the outcome. They wanted to test the water and they fought out that it will be to much for manny. U gotta think about his health too.. im sure he would do well against others at 154 but he will sure take a lot of damage.. i dont see anything wrong by going back down to 147 where he's comfortable at.. like u said pac was the 154 champ until a few days ago when he gave the title back, so its not like he's going around claiming he's the 154 champ and then is avoiding fighting in the 154 division. and who else is there in the 135 division that will be competitive for manny besides marquez which he has fought twice already??

WHat he is doing is worse. he won a title against a fighter who didn't deserve to be fighting for a title at that weight then he reliquishes the title without defending it. This isn't the 1st weight he has done this at. 135, 140, and 154. His title defense at 147 was against Clottey (#5 or 6 at the time).

We should be able to agree it is tougher to defend a title then win it. This is why I think its worse.
