He said he will never fight either of the Klitschkos - those were his exact words; and Sky have reserved a date in May for his next fight, which Booth said will be against either Chagaev or Mormeck. He won't fight in both May and July, so why has he reserved a date for a fight in May if he secretly plans to go fight in July instead? That makes no sense. He would have to sign contracts with Chagaev or Mormeck before the Chisora fight happened, in order for the May date to be possible.

Because he was ordered to fight his mandatory so he reserved the date in May, when ordered to fight a mandatory you've got 180 days to fight them. Now that it looks like he won't be fighting Chagaev the WBA might let him fight Wlad in July.

Number one, theres no opponent announced for the May date.

Number two, the date can be cancelled if he signs with Wlad and cancels that date.

Number three, he can only make that a legal contract once thew Chisora figth is done.

Number four, not fighting a Klitschko when you've spent the highest profile section of your career talking about it?

        Thats a paddlin!

          Yeah?
No, they have an agenda and they are not really champions anyway, two of the belts were just taken from Sergio for no real reason.

You are either THEE champion or you are not, I don't see how anyone else can make legitimate claim other than him that he is the man at 160.

            Yeah?
Martinez is the world champion at the moment. No boxing expert would dispute that. Now if Golovkin were to call him out, no one would take a blind bit of notice, other than to have a good laugh about it. Same thing if Sylvester called him out.

If Sturm called him out, there would be some pressure for him to fight Sturm, not because he holds a bullshit WBA super-belt, but because he's ranked #2 by all the independent rankings.

If Pirog called him out, no one would consider that Martinez has to fight Pirog next in order to continue to be called the champion, because Pirog is unproven and needs to beat a top 5 fighter before he can be considered a true contender.

Bottom line, the belts have become irrelevant in this context, except in the sense that up and coming fighters need to win a belt in order to get good paydays.

The WBA already agreed long ago that he can fight Wlad in July. They only raised the mandatory issue when Haye pulled out of the July fight.

They agreed because it was a unification fight, because Wlad is fighting Chisora it might not be a unification fight because Wlad might lose. So they ordered him to fight his mandatory. Why is that so hard for people to understand?

They didn't. Not until after he had said he would not go ahead with the unification. Why is that so hard for you to understand?

And even if they had done, which they didn't, do you seriously think Chagaev wouldn't have taken step-aside money, like Ruiz did, if he'd been asked to? But Haye said he didn't want to take the fight. End of story.

Well it was a bit hard for them to say it before because Wlad hadn't signed the Chisora fight when Haye said it.

How do you know what Chagaev would and wouldn't have taken?

And thats scheduled for after the Chisora fight, which is on the 30th April, right?

I hope this comes true. Another clue, exhibit A, the callout video:

The production value of this is pretty high, right?

Its scripted and scored. How many callout videos get scripted and scored? This would not have been made if there was no fight happenning.

Wlad's almost laughing at the lines. Its just a matter of time methinks and the whole thing with the Chisora fight adds a bit of suspense to the situation.

I'll bet a million on it.
