Cotto could have dominated 11 and 12, dropped mayweather and only get a majority draw.

I didn't agree with the score cards but
I don't think they were disgraceful...
we saw a war and Miguel lost,
    much
    respect to him...
    also Mayweather did his thing...
    much respect to him also...

The size seems to be a real issue for Floyd. I've flip flopped a lot with the Mayweather-Martinez fight, and I'm back to thinking Floyd can't hurt Sergio and will eat a lot of left hands.
Last night Floyd won, but it wasn't easy. Cotto should have stayed a little more to the body. I just saw him over extend too much every time he tried to hit Floyd's head. Floyd has amazing reflexes fighting shorter guys. That's why I think it'll take a tall man to beat him.

I'm convinced more than ever now that Martinez sparks him. Pacman however gets beaten to a bloody pulp.

Martinez @160 has power/speed/reflexes/reach/timing/weight advantage. Stylistically, his low work-rate would not be beneficial to him, and I can't say for certain that he has a jab as good as Cotto's, but he has the reach to do damage with it. His power would probably have Floyd on his toes. Martinez's ability to switch gears will be VERY valuable to him.

This is the only plausible match-up where I wouldn't favor Floyd.

Floyd has always had decent power. Not overwhelming by any means, but if the guy catches you flush, which he is able to do often with his accuracy, it hurts.

Cotto always seems to fade late, and that didnt help him either in that 12th.

Like Malignaggi recently reinforced, you dont need to be a huge puncher by any means to hurt so called 'larger and stronger' opponents. In fact, in many cases its easier to hurt them, since youre faster and their extra weight is spearended on the end of your accurate shots.

I already said styles make fights and did not say Pac can beat Floyd. I said no one can in the first post but I am pretty sure Pac is going to land something if he goes for it.

Still awaiting my 50 Mil Mohammed...

why? because the 8 oz gloves would have mashed floyd's nose sooner? or because floyd's left hand likely benefited from the bigger gloves and he was likely able to utilize it more?

also, they were normal 10oz gloves, not 10 oz heavyweight

frankly i think team cotto should have went with 8oz gloves and it was foolish to want 10oz considering floyd's hands

                    Cotto's attitude

Is anyone else tired of cotto's unprofessionalism after he loses? He clearly lost last night, and instead of sticking around for a bit to share a moment with the fans and give the media an interview for the benefit of those who paid and came to see him, he just left. Even people like floyd realize that at the end of the day, its the fans money who pays, and in some cases raises your purses. My hat went off to him for his effort, as a professional he conducted himself like a 7th grader.

BTW, did he even show up at the post fight presser????

A Jab if thrown at an awkward angle will catch floyd a few times but then Floyd would adapt,Floyd dodged the vast majority of Cotto`s jab. Most of the Jabs Floyd got Caught with by Cotto came from an awkward angle plus Floyd is slower then usual.
