There is no way he can still do it at that speed now. However, his timing will impreccably remain intact for a while yet.
I know what you said and my response was not in a negative tone. Its all love man

But Mayweather isn't any slower, I just seen him last september with very good speed and I also witnessed a slow azz margarita landing a lot on Cotto recently

Floyd has an eerie way of making opponents stray from conventional wisdom, get deperate & sling wide looping hailmarries at a playing shoulder & no target.
If a fighter had any sense, they would stay to his body & beat away at his shoulders & hipbone. Cotto as heavy hands, he would make a dent, but Floyd will make him headhunt like a fool.
Good post, I agree with all that you said

IMO thats all Cotto has is a left hand, his right hand is basic. Once Mayweather takes away Cottos left hand then the fight is done. Cotto is a basic fighter, he is tough with decent boxing skills (depending on his opponent) but he is repetitive in his attack.

I really don't think he has a shot, it's a good fight don't get me wrong.

And outside of Pacquiao and Martinez it's probably the best one that could be made but I just don't think pressure beats Floyd anymore.

If you fight Floyd you need to make him be the pressure fighter, don't give him many punches to counter and frankly make the fight boring, throw lead right hands and hooks, don't measure him out with the jab too often. I don't think Cotto can do that, and I don't think you can beat Floyd on the inside. His game in the pocket is too good.

I actually think Floyd will jab with Cotto and control him that way similar to what he did to JMM. The jab to the body will drive Cotto crazy and Floyd has the reach and speed to beat Cotto to the punch.

Cotto will look to jab and move to the left to avoid Floyd's right hand. Typically Floyd opponents avoid doing this because Floyd scares them with the left hook, but Cotto for all his defensive deficiency's rarely gets hit by the left hook.

Therefore look for Floyd to jab with Cotto and dominate him in the process. The only weight class I would have given Cotto a chance to beat Floyd at is 140 because Cotto had very good power and the speed to land his body punches. Cotto at 147 became to slow to land his body punches, and rather than learning how to set them up he abandoned his body punching.

At 140 Cotto didn't need to set up the left hook to the body because he was fast enough to get there with the punch(sometimes he did set it up but is was tripling the left hook-face,body,face....something he can't do since his speed is no longer there for him to use that technique).

Floyd tko due to the fact that Cotto cuts too easily and has poor stamina.

ive never known cotto to be a guy who regularly triples up on the jab..... his jab is underrated but he throws it heavy in ones rather than scoring in mulitples

Don't see it, Miguel tends to fade in later rounds, especially when pressed, while Floyd seems to get stronger as he makes his adjustments. With 8oz gloves, the result seems to be a forgone conclusion.
