I would love to say yes, I mean you could easily say that every fighter has a punchers chance. The problem is Cotto isn't the same. Mayweather hasn't missed a beat ever since his loss to Castillo in their first fight, not that he's unbeatable now but I think it's obvious that Mayweather is at a better stage right now than Cotto is. I see Cotto on the way out, and who knows, this could very well be the fight that retires him.

Regardless of the result, Cotto is one of my favs and besides JMM, there is probably no one else in boxing I respect more.

Great video but all those dudes made a beginner boxing mistake. After they threw the jab none of them ever quickly got their hand back. They either left it low or brought it back to damn slow

When he comes forward he is generally more effective, and sits down more on his punches.

I think he will be more effective on the ropes than other Mayweather opponents because his accuracy is underrated, and he is more economical/skilled than Victor Ortiz and Ricky Hatton with his punches. A lot of it will likely depend on if Mayweather stands still or still has the legs to move around.
this Cotto on paper isnt peak Cotto, unless he has learnt knew tricks and is reborn on 5th may fight night.
But most people will realize Floyds resume is rather weak risk wise, so Cotto is arguably the best person hes ever fought, even if this Cotto isnt as good as the one Pac fought.
Floyd isnt as good as people say he is, so Cotto may well beat Floyd.

Miguel has the best chance of beating Floyd out of any opponent Floyd has faced since Oscar or Diego / Juan Luis...

But will he beat him? No, probably not. I hope I'm wrong though.

                Your not serious......

[COLOR="DarkGreen"]"[and it's not like Cotto has that homerun punch that can change things

his best style is to try to break down Floyd and that means getting inside...he doesn't have the speed or skill to do that IMO

You don't believe that man. Who you think Mayweather is? GOD? Cotto will hit him and he will hurt him. AND if he hits him flush he could possibly K.O. Mayweather./COLOR]

The more unexpected it is, the more of an upset it is.

(Douglas, but I think you're asking to spur conversation, not get answers.)

cotto's shot is like that of a basketball game where everybody has a shot. either you make it or miss. in cotto's case, he will get blocked so his shot won't even get near the ring.

I think he's got the best shot out of his recent 3 opponents no doubt based on style. Cotto isn't the Cotto of 2007-2008, but Floyd also isn't the Floyd of 2003-2004. If Floyd does stick to his word that he'll fight Cotto straight up, it could get real interesting. If he decides to play safe and moves around and pot shots Cotto, even then I don't think Cotto will make it easy (underrated ring generalship), I can see a very uneventful 12 round decision for Floyd. Something tells me though Floyd won't be moving around as much in this fight.
