In my estimation JMM would do better against Floyd now as well, as he has acclimatised to the weight now. He could come in at 144.

If there are great fights at 154 there shouldnt be a need to go to 160. But its all about challenging yourself, so if FLoyd wants to, why not? Yes it is hard to fight bigger guys, they hit harder and take your punches better. But no one said it would be easy.
Floyd is only 1 1/2 inches taller than Manny.......

Marquez would not do better against Floyd now, it'd be the same result. It's not like Floyd came forward that whole night, got JMM on the ropes, and imposed his will on him. He boxed, moved, and out classed him in a shutout. And Floyd hadn't even fought in 21 months.

All I was saying is that Floyd won't go to 160 and if he did to fight Sergio, he wouldn't be avoiding Pacquiao to fight the best MW in the world, and one of the top 3-4 fighters in the world.

    • Useless thread again.

All Floyd has to do to avoid Manny is stick with PBF's juicy offer: 80/20 split. Come on people. Let's move on. Mayweather vs Martinez is more realistic. Sergio will give everything Mayweather wants.

Let's just wait for the Cotto fight.

As for Uncle Bob..Yes, the man is a **** and in that he is absolutely no worse than any other promoter. Boxing promoters are driven purely by self interest, would sell their own grannie's and contrive to hold the matches up the fans want to see purely to suit their own ends. Whats really pissed me off about this is that this whole debacle seems to be a battle of (half)wits between Arum and Floyd and as such we still have no fight.

Too much pride getting in the way here.
Its not hard for me to understand that but the sports world has changed as has boxing. So I can see how floyd accussing manny of cheating might irk you, but I would think manny's responses would irk you more seeing as how his actions, moreso than floyd's accusations, made people look at him differently.

Manny's subsequent behavior out the ring has led credence to the notion he'd cheat inside it. And, for the record, I think manny is clean until proven otherwise.

No offense to you, but calling manny a cheat is nothing compared to ALi calling frazier a gorilla or what (name escapes me) said about emile griffith.

I agree floyd the promoter is only doing this to make himself more money. Yes, he could change his stance and make it easier for this fight to happen. But every compromise offer, and whether reasonable or not, has been rejected equally. This is why I have questioned your position regarding the situation.

Hatton fanatics brains are dead ever since their glorified club fighter hero was ringposted in Dec 2007, They are worse than *******s! How can fighting Martinez at 160 be = to ducking a smaller lesser fighter in Pac? Only ******s and but hurt fans can equate to that.

              • Floyds demand didnt give him an advantage in the ring, mannys did. Ring size and glove size can affect the fight. Ost only affects the fight if your cheating. Fact, both fighters made demands. Floyd excepted manny didnt. Everythong else is irrelavant.

                • This will remain a fantasy from pactards but if there will be new negotiation between Pac and Floyd, and Floyd ask for 154 lbs fight, then TS scheme will be relevant...

since when has Floyd ever made sense?

Floyd won't ever fight at 160 lbs, he's tiny at 154 for christ sake, and is smaller than most WW's as well.
Yeah, why would Floyd go to 160lbs to avoid Manny when at 154lbs he avoids him.

Hell he even avoided Pacquiao for the last 3 years at 147lbs.

Floyd: Take the Test and the fight happens.

Manny: OK I'll take your test.

Floyd: now 50/50 is off the table, no cut for you just a flat fee.

Just the latest in the long line of excuses from Floyd.

We all know what the next one is going to be.

I can't make 147lbs anymore, if Manny wants the fight he has to come to 154lbs.

Hey they don't call him the King of the Duckers for nothing.
