If we start arbitrarily subtracting numbers from PPV totals for Floyd we have to start doing it for everybody. I mean the Ghanians have to be at least 100k of Clottey-Pac. What ratio of rican to mexican do we assign trinidad-odlh or cotto-marg II?

It's more to it than just that.

Canelo fought Cintron for free not to long ago. He's far from this big PPV star.

Cotto is descent, but he's not 1.5 mil worth.

Just go to any boxing website, Mayweather's name fills the page. It's him, not Canelo on the undercard with Cotto on the main card.

It's mostly him, but to believe the other names (Cotto, Canelo, and Mosley) didn't contribute to the overall buyrates/gate of that event is smoking some serious ****.

Cotto is arguably the 3rd biggest name in boxing. Canelo has a cult following already. And Shane is a known commodity.

About 600K I believe, which are very good numbers for a non-Manny/Floyd fight.

Canelo may not have headlined a PPV, but he's got an already significant following. You can even argue that he's already the most popular fighter in Mexico.

I can honestly say NOBODY I watched the fight with were remotely interested in the under card at all. I even watched the fight with Puerto Ricans and Mexicans. We watched the Mavs vs OKC for most of the under card and then ate enchiladas and drank during the Canelo and Mosley fight. Everyone was there for one reason and that was to watch Mayweather.
