I don't see Cotto getting a rematch, it was a great fight, and a close fight, but it wasn't rematch-close.
I actually don't think that there were a lot of close rounds. I've watched the fight since since Saturday and came up with the same 10-2 scorecard. The only close rounds in my opinion were 6,8,9, and 10. Mayweather clearly won all of the other rounds. I didn't see any clear rounds for Cotto. I initially thought that 8 was a clear Cotto round until I rewatched it and saw that Floyd dominated the 1st minute of that round.

    • How do you think this fight would of played out if Floyd didn't have a cold or injured hand?

While watching the fight: I wondered why he wasn't throwing his signature left hook.

      • mmmm i always thought his signature punch was he straight right and also could have been cotto putting in work and not a ****ing cold jesus, ur blaming him not throwing left hooks because of a cold

        • If u look at the fight he hardly threw jabs or left hooks. go figure. If he was in his A game he would have ran through cotto like he did to Corrales.

It was a much closer fight than Lampley and Steward made it seem, it's obvious they get paid and told to lean more toward one fighter, Lampley usually jocks Cotto, this time he probably wasn't allowed to..

I'm convinced to wanting a rematch..I think Cotto should ask for one for a chance to get his belt back, if not smash on Canelo on Sept 15th
Rematches are for close fights. eg. Williams-Martinez I. I doubt Cotto or Golden Boy want a rematch.

            • huge cotto fan watched the fight 3 times now saturday night drunk and the last two time cold stone sober and i have it like i had it the first time 8 rounds to 4 for floyd, very good fight but floyd won. But miguel gave it his best shot. I had it 5-4 floyd going to the championship rounds and gave floyd all 3 of them. Like i said before 117-111 i can see but 118-110 is a joke

                  know what I mean.
                  lol not really.

I thought Cotto was beginning to take over the fight in the middle rounds but then he gassed and the later rounds were all Mayweather.

It's strange that for all his trainer's new techniques and improvements that he was still outlasted by a 35 year old in terms of fitness.

                    • Im beginning to believe the theories on here that floyd actually let Cotto take him to the ropes. During the fight i said several times, why doesn't he just get out of there? He had tons of room and it even looked like Cotto wanted to fight in the center sometimes. If you ask me, Mayweather completely controlled the fight and purposely made himself more vulnerable. I hate to admit it but thats what I saw.
