I don't think the controls are bad, it's just that after four games of pressing to block and then using the stick to control where I block I have to get used to it. I do like how they changed throwing punches, much easier to use diverse combos. The way fighters close when they throw punches is cool, though easy to abuse.

Very fun game, counter punching isn't as important in this one.(Which I like)

You should get hurt more often.

Body punching should cause more damage.

I had no prob with the camera.

But overall its a nice improvement over FN4.

Thanks for clarifying Cotto and Pac are playable, I guess I got too ahead of myself and just assumed that Ali and Tyson was playable since that's how demos usually work. I'm assuming PS3 and 360 is the same? I got the 360. Will have to give it another shot (no pun intended) later tonight.

Don't really like it so far. It's just a slugfest. The new blocking system takes a lot less skill and it seems a helluva lot easier for the noobs to throw quality combinations.

Saying that, I wasn't really a fan of FNR4 when I first played that either.

Wow, such a detailed breakdown of the game from The Authority. Do you work at G4?

You don't sound pathetic at all.

        Go on......................

Is the demo a final, or close to final version? Or do they still tweak it? This is really the first demo that i've played.
I think it's still opened to be tweaked if enough people complain in the EA Fight Night forums.

I agree with other people complaining about the camera angle. It's annoying when you start fight off on the left side and somehow get switched to the left side of the screen. But the final game should have different camera angles so that shouldn't be a problem.

My main gripe so far is the movement. The side step doesn't happen fast enough and doesn't cover enough ground. It's already pretty good, but someone like Ali should look like he's gliding around the ring.

I think people are just slugging it out because it's only 3 rounds. For our sake, hopefully those same people play the same way when the final game comes out and tire themselves out before the 5th round.

I liked the old blocking system as well.

My biggest complaint would be the blocking like alot of ppl have already said. I took pride in my blocking skills in FNR4. I might like it eventually and can understand why they did it but my first impression was WTF all i have to do is hold a button and it blocks head and body?

The probably did it this way because you can throw lighting fast combination's this time. Its more realistic if your fighting with someone like Pacquiao.

Actually you're the one that sucks, since Ive been able to hold my opponents @ 27% online when in other games it was automatically 60%, also this game is so realistic that if you swing away reckelessly you can get ktfo by me with 1 punch night over.
Range now is a factor as if you're in the pocket with Ali youll throw hooks autmatically and you have to get in range for jabs to come out, forcing players with long reach to fight on the outside and shorter on the inside, pretty realistic to me.

No more spinning, no more glitching, just the best simulation of boxing I ever played. You must suck so delete the demo.

2K sports should attempt a boxing game.

they nearly took out Madden with (NFL 2K3), then EA felt threatened and monopolized the whole thing

2K sports took out EA with the NBA 2k series, forcing NBA Live.Elite into temporary retirement lol

bottom like, im no 2K fan boy nor do i play games as much anymore, but 2K sports seems to have the formula for success

plus, its always better to have TWO games on the market

i thought it was an improvement gameplay wise over round 4. but the venue's, ring walks, are just a copy of round 4. i know it's not a big deal, and DEFINITLEY doesn't affect the game for me, but it would just be cool to see ****m walk with mosley/hopkins, and roach and maybe even buboy walk with pac.

The 1-2 works like a charm!
