I thought calzaghe won it down the stretch he started landing clean in rounds 8, 9 and 10 b-hop looked tired and rushed, iv never seen him struggling like that with stamina. Neither guy landed much, hopkins landed cleaner but less often calzaghe landed a lot of grazing and some clean but less powerful. I think calzaghe would have won more clearly if b-hop didn't take the break.
i had hopkins by 2 or 3 rounds, calzaghe missed more than he got credit for. he could've kicked hopkins in the shins and stomped on hopkins feet and got credit for landing punches on scoring areas..... that mess was a joke and the decision was purely political, hopkins vs the boxing establishment, the white boy comment sealed that deal.
even vinny pazienza said that to me and my friends after the fight, saying hopkins shot himself in the foot with that type of fight promotion, paz said that it made a lot of folks mad, beyond the ****** crap that the fans were privy too.
and for the hopkins with the low blows he had to deal with the WHOLE fight from calzaghe, it was obviously unless you had calzaghe's nuts hanging in front of your eyes that hopkins was trying to get a point taken away from the, at least 4 low blows prior, and i stress at least, calzaghe was going low all night, but according to hbo, lampley, and compubox, those were scoring shots, OH and the judges.
even the brits in my section at the fight said they thought calzaghe lost, said from a fight perspective, calzaghe got beat up, and those weren't my words, because i know he got beat up that fight, hence why he would've rather watched his parents **** than to fight hopkins in a rematch..........
the proof is in the pudding, though, hopkins is still holding it down, joe has his face down on a mirror, or the ass of a hooker...........
