I'm still kind of dissappointed that Calzaghe retired when he did. I thought that he still had a couple more great performances left in him and surely a win against then undefeated Chad Dawson (a proposed fight at the time) would have helped his legacy....

Calzaghe hasn't shown anything in his career against elite competition for us to assume he could beat all the top SMW. The division right now is totally stacked and never was during his reign.

He wasn't bad vs. Hopkins. History has proven that to be a good win. Kessler was also a decent win I guess.

Calz showed he is a top fighter with wins over Lacy, Kessler & Hopkins. The guy spent majority of his career with very average competition but with those 3 wins above later in his career he proved he was much better than most gave him credit for.

Ward, Froch & Bute (although not in s6) would have given him a good fight.
