Cortez cost Hatton alot of hard work and damage because getting inside wasnt easy for Hatton and he didnt get the full payoff. Mayweather would have still probably won but it would have went the distance.

Same result, maybe even worse. I'm thinking Floyd would of grabbed on the inside then take a step back and throw combos like he did when he fought Gatti. I think Hatton would of got Ko'd sooner but that's just my opinion. Bayless wouldn't have stopped Hatton from being timed perfectly with that check hook.

Mayweather still KOs Hatton maybe even quicker, Mayweather can fight dirty and is much better on the inside than Hatton. Ricky even admitted he didn't realise how good Floyd was on the inside.

As for if Cortez was reffing Malignaggi, at best he'd have lost a UD, all depends on whether Cortez would stop the fight. I don't think the refs had too much to do with each result to be honest. Regardless Hatton beats Malignaggi and gets beaten comfortably by Mayweather.

Maywether will likely always stop Hatton Imo because Hatton forces the issue. If you continue to press Mayweather when he is landing clean like that you force the stoppage. If Hatton takes his foot of the gas after getting hurt bad in the 8th he makes it to the 12th. Floyd won't press for the KO but if you press him it may happen anyway. Props to Hatton being brave enough to go out on his shield though.
