If mayweather and malignaggi switched referees for their hatton fight..

Would the outcome be any different?

I was watching mallignaggi-hatton and I noticed maliggnaggi's game plan was to hold hatton so the ref would break them up and he can box again..

He was constantly holding hatton with his left hand, doing absolutely nothing except let hatton destroy him in the body.. I realized he was expecting kenny bayless to break them up because hatton is notorious for holding lol.. but he never would.

What would have happened if mayweather had kenny bayless and he let hatton fight on the inside, and he let them punch out instead of breaking them up?

What would have happened if cortez wasn't allowing maliggnaggi to hold?

It would have helped out Hatton more if Mayweather got a point deducted for elbows even if the senile old dinosaur Cortez was the one that done it.

Mayweather done a lot of borderline stuff in that fight.

I don't think there's anything that would've saved Paulie from a beatdown but Jr. would still have won, maybe by a strong UD though. The timing of Mayweather's hook on Hatton was just so perfect. All the stars were aligned that night and I don't know if it could be replicated.

He may have come closer in the Mayweather fight, but I believe Floyd still would have won convincingly.

          I think it would've been a competitive-ish UD loss.

9-3 or 8-4. But Hatton could've got out of there with his head held high.

That was a damaging KO loss for Hatton, he got absolutely banjo'd. And from that point on he always seemed to be second guessing himself - it took away a lot of Hatton's belief.

          Hatton had an iron will.

Paulie was hurt badly in the second or third round from a big Hatton right hand after dominating the opening two rounds. He wasn't expecting Bayless to break them up, he was holding on just to survive for the rest of the fight and Bayless was letting him.

Mayweather/Hatton would've been much closer and certainly have went the distance with any other ref but Cortez, he is without question the most corrupt out there. Not saying Hatton would've won, but it would've been a good scrap rather than the farce we witnessed.

Funny that no Hatton fans talked about all the **** he did in the Tzyu fight. Besides the times they were not broken up PBF was the one who did more work on the inside than Hatton. PBF also showed he was actually stronger than Hatton. Face facts there is nothing Hatton can do inside a ring better than PBF. 100 times out of 100 PBF beats the brakes off Hatton just like he did.

Hatton would have KO'd Mayweather within 3 rounds and, in turn, Malignaggi would have won every single round against Hatton, thus attaining the top spot in the pound-for-pound listings and going down a surefire International Boxing Hall of Famer.
