by not allowing hatton to hold-n-hit. cortez wouldn't allow hatton to work on the inside.

You know how floyd got hatton with that check hook? Because hatton was exhausted and floyd wasn't. If kenny bayless let them fight, then mayweather would have been more tired by the 10th round and hatton would be less tired because mayweather would have been less active.

A brawler's job against a boxer is to close the distance. Vice versa. Bayless let them fight and cortez didn't. (only after hatton was already tired he let them fight on the inside)

Not to mention Hatton is 5'7 with a 65 inch reach. To Mayweather 5"8 height with a huge 72 inch reach.

Hatton had no other choice really.

Mayweather-Hatton wouldn't have been much different because Hatton was eating most of the shots on the inside when Cortez did let them fight. In the first 2-3 rounds, Cortez was way over involved and didn't let them really fight on the inside, working in and out of clinches, using their free hand, etc...When he did let them, Mayweather was getting the better of it. He was landing most of the clean shots up close, using tricks with his elbows and forearms, and repeatedly dug in that right uppercut to the body when his left arm and Ricky's right arm were tied up.

HAHAHA. Excellent post. Hatton did some crazy dirty stuff during the Kosta fight. If I EVER saw a ref CLEARLY helping the hometown fighter, it was IN THAT FIGHT. Turnabout is fairplay. Cortez just didn't let Hatton get away with his usual excessive holding, and dirty b.s. And he got exposed, and RUINED by Floyd Mayweather. It's not about the ref in this fight. Hatton still would have got KTFO. If not beaten in a lop-sided UD. Floyd is light years ahead of Hatton in terms of class.

Tricks? You just don't want to call it what it is and that's "cheating".

Cortez didn't affect Hatton in the Castillo fight. However, I do think Bayless would have made the fight more interesting. Can't blame anyone, but the fighters though, they're the ones that agree on the refs in advance.

To me, this is easily Mayweather best win of his carear. ref had nothing to do with it. How fast is Hatton by the way? very impressive hand and foot speed, he just over reached when he punches and got countered. If Hatton would have went to a better trainer early and looked after himself he would have been a problem - but his idol was Roberto Duran and he thought he could abuse himself the way he did, but not everyone is built that way.

Or the lead right hand for that matter. Some people will never get over this loss. I know, it sucks.........but ur man got beat by the better fighter, and was EXPOSED. And RUINED.

                      Tricks, dirty fighting, cheating, whatever.

Mayweather's forearms and elbows, Duran's low blows and elbows, Hopkins's everything, Pedroza's everything, Tito's low blows, etc...

I'm so used fighters bending the rules that I'm almost immune to it, unless it's REALLY extreme (see Pedroza-Laporte).
