Going to Showtime will only decrease what would of been a weak selling PPV on HBO.

Pacquiao vs. Mosley might be headed to Showtime (PPV)???

Double-edged sword here for both HBO & Arum. Has its positives and negatives on each side. Showtime is going to have to step up big time to match what would've been HBO's budget. Plus, the channel simply doesn't have the same viewership to promote it in the same fashion. Should be interesting - although there seems to be a lot more chatter about this than facts.

I both subscribe to HBO and Showtime, but the Pacquiao vs. Mosley fight is not the issue here. It's just Bob's way of saying don't **** with him, because he has the means and the resources to back up his threat (Latin Fury/Pinoy Power). He's known to produce his own boxing events since time immemorial, and Bob is feeling like a woman scorned because he was treated as a second class citizen by HBO...

IF the fight ends up on Showtime, and I'm not convinced it's anything but bullying by Bob, it would be interesting to see how CBS (Showtime's parent company) promotes the fight. I remember Arum saying that whatever network got the rights to the fight would produce a 24/7 like program, so question is would the network be willing to broadcast said program on CBS or would it be relegated to Show like Fight Camp?
If it did end up being on CBS that would be HUGE regardless of what hardcore fans and boxing media think of the fight, that would be massive exposure that HBO could never dream of delivering AND it would pave the way for getting Boxing back into mainstream broadcast television.
But like I said, big IF since most likely it will end up on HBO since they really have no bargaining chips and will cave to Arum's demands.

Unless Floyd plans on fighting more than once in a blue moon, if he plans to fight at all, then HBO is hurt more by Pacquiao's absence than bolstered by Floyd's presence.

But you can't deny how big of an impact that would have not only on PPV sales, but Boxing in general.
