Tyson was only exciting to non-boxing fans such as yourself because of his craziness but he lacked real skill like the Klitschkos. Just look at every time he stepped up, and no I don't give him credit for KOing a LHW and 40 year old-timer, because in that case Wlad gets all the credit in the world for being the first man to stop a 40 year old Mercer.

Quite the contrary, most boxing fans find Tyson way more exciting than Wlad. It's just that euro punks like you have never watched Tyson or any other fighter besides the Klits.
Michael Spinks had the IBF title, he had beaten Holmes. He was also taller than Tyson. Tyson was a small heavyweight. Michael Spinks was also a great light heavyweight. It's a very good win. Let me put it this way, A win over Michael Spinks is a hell of a lot better than a win over Tomasz Adamek who Wlads about to fight in the fall.

Tyson also beat Frank Bruno(twice), Pinklon Thomas, Tony Tucker, Trevor Berbick, and no matter how you twist it... Larry Holmes despite being old and coming of a lay off is way better than most guys on Wlads resume.

Name all the great wins Wlad have? Wlad doesn't have a single win over a HOF either.
You do realize that most of Wlad's opponents haven't even been retired to be even considered for the IBHOF, don't you? I bet Byrd makes it in and probably Mercer when he is finally done. There is no telling with the younger guys that Wlad will beat in the next couple of year if they make it in the HOF.

I found Tyson more like a car accident, I watched to see what would happen but I never found his boxing to be exciting. I probably watched 10 times the number of fights of Tyson than you of the Klitschkos. I know you don't watch the Klitschkos, since you claim they are boring, because if you do watch them then they can't be that boring to you.

I am not stuck in the past like you though, I actually watch fighters fighting today, I don't pop in an old VHS tape every time I want to see my favorite fighter like you do.

HAHAHAHAHAHA That image speaks mountains!! Very true, but the K brothers are being smart. They hope to make a legacy when people realize they beat a bunch of undefeated fighters, even if some of them were bums, still looks good in their resume.

Don't even compare the excitement between watching Tyson fight and Wlad. It's disgraceful.
I loved watching Tyson(pre don king) But lets face it Wlad is a much better all round fighter. He uses skills more than just out powering guys.yes it is not as exciting as watching Tyson try to clobber guys, but as far as being technically sound Wlad is a better boxer fgrom a purest stand point

We all know Wlad’s weakness, his chinny, chin, chin! Question is, can he find it? Many have tried, most have failed, and that’s simply the cut and short of it.

Tyson is appealing because many people love the idea of a half-insane ****** thug going crazy the minute the bell rings for the first round.

A guy known for biting ears, raping women, snorting coke, etc. etc.

It's all part of the package when it comes to Tyson.

It's human nature to be fascinated by that, especially in an era as superficially "civilized" as our own, where most violence is sublimated and committed in corporate boardrooms.

Lennox Lewis got all the same **** about being "boring" that Wlad gets now, because next to a madman, a boxer, no matter how good, is going to look kinda ordinary. It's easy to forget now how much crap Lennox took in America, especially, because he wasn't Tyson.

Once Lennox retired, of course, all of that was forgotten and now everyone loves Lennox.

True. People like Tyson not because of his boxing abilities, but because he is the embodiment of something forbidden that they admire, and even fantasize about being (at least part of the time).

The ultimate bad ass, the ****** uber-thug, whatever you want to call it. The Stagger Lee syndrome, of which Tyson was one in a long lineage.

Much of the appeal of Tyson to the people who love him only has a little to do with actual boxing, and is much more about other factors such as I just mentioned.

Exactly, I remember when all the US fans were calling Lewis a phag because he spoke with a British accent.

Tyson without the out-of-the-ring antics of **** and assaults and crazy "I'll eat your babies" rants, wouldn't even show up on most casual fan's radar. He was probably made more famous by that more than anything else. As a boxer though, he proved to be good but not great, every time he stepped up to a great boxer (Lewis, Holyfield) he got KTFO. He can be excused for loosing to mediocre competition like Douglas, Williams, and McBride but not when the Klitschkos, who are still reigning today, are being crucified for loosing to much better competition in Sanders, Brewster, and Byrd. That's when the Tyson nut lickers need to be reminded that Tyson got KTFO by an obese journeyman in his prime, got owned by Holyfield and Lewis in between, and then quit against two journeymen in Williams and McBride at the tail-end of his career.

Tyson was actually infact exciting inside the ring too... That's also why people loved him. You make it seem like it was all about what he did outside the ring, which is not the case.
