whatever, Ill rewatch the fight...its great stuff anyway, one of the best technical wars of the last few years. and Ill get back to yall.

and also itll be in spanish, so no, Im not being subconsciously biased in Barrera's favor, even though I seriously doubt I pay attention to that since I often will disagree with commentary in general.

I've watched this fight few months ago, I felt like Barrera should've won that fight. He was way accurate than JMM and scorecards were too wide for this close fight.

That knockdown round is full of controversy. I dont think the right hand that dropped Marquez was a fluke at all. Although Barrera was rocked early in the round and took a lot of punches, in the last minute he had started settling back in. He had actually landed a very similiar right hand right before landing the knockdown punch. I personally would still have made the round a 10-8 for Barrera, since Barrera those few flush shots Barrera landed did more damage than Marquez did the entire round.
Of course because of the point deduction, it would be 9-8 for Barrera.
9-8 is what I had too.

IMO, the fight was really close but Marquez was landing the more impressive shots. Again, Barrera should have took the rematch that was offered to him, instead of getting mad at golden boy as if they were in favor of Marquez and making it seem like they were the reason he got the decision.

the no KD was actually a 4 pts Swing.

            the 2 116-111 would have been 114-113
It was a 1-2 point swing depending on who was winning the round before the KD..... 2 points imho. The deduction was legit regardless as to how the KD was scored. It cost Barrera two points, which made that fight closer than people think, and a lot closer than the scorecards indicated.

I can't blame him for not taking it... he got a fight with Pacquiao instead.

Just like what was said earlier. JMM closed the fight out stronger and would've picked up where he left off in the rematch. End of story.

I remember that round when Barrera dropped Marquez was of pure desperation. It saved him from a knockout, Marquez was hurting Barrera in that same round and he sensed he was hurting MAB so he opened up and BAM he was caught. It happens. Ref did a good job, he clearly hit Marquez when he was down.

                    I had Marquez winning.

Good post, and agree that he should have taken the rematch.
