Cotto tries to be slick, as long as you try that makes you slick right? Cotto would parry punches, shoulder roll(he might parry and shoulder roll the wrong way into a punch but he tries to do it), uses footwork, head movement(look at Margarito) counters, uses the jab.

He tries to be slick just like Judah tries. Lets call him slick now. Since all you need to do is try.
judah doesn't try. he damn well is slick bro.......

Cotto doesn't try to be slick like Judah. You are confusing defense with slickness.

Slickness is more a matter of flow going from offense to defense and back, Cotto doesn't do that at all really.

Zab tries to approach fights that way and that is how he wants to fight. Just because he gets sidetracked when he is getting hit doesn't mean that isn't the type of fighter he is, it just means he is lacking an important piece of the puzzle. The brain to fully utilize it.

      Big difference.

Slick and defensive are two different things. Paulie Malignaggi is slick but not defensive. Joan Guzman is very slick but gets hit quite a bit so I wouldn't call him defensive. Very few fighters are slick and defensive like Floyd and Hopkins. Judah is slick not defensive, prime Corley was slick not defensive.

Put Pacquiao in there with at least a slick African American boxer, forget the defense. A slick+defensive fighter is the ultimate boxer and they are very rare.

lol the irony. you can not consider somebody with a poor defense a slick fighter. defense comes with being slick. slick = crafty and slippery with smooth moves. a slick/crafty fighter with poor defense? there's no such thing. slick fighters should always have good defense because their good reflexes allow them to. however, not all defensive fighters are slick. that's how it goes.

            Of course they're.

The only thing that I could think about that would make some of these people say Judah is slicker than Pac is cuz of his skin color.

            Dude is just not slick.

No, look at the Margarito fight. Cotto tries to be slick.

So that means he is a slick fighter.

who was the person who replaced the ol' good slippery with slick. was it Max kellerman?

So you're going to tell me that Malignaggi is not slick now? And you're going to tell me he's a defensive fighter?

First Judah is not slick, now Malignaggi ain't slick. Every one has to be a slick as Pernell now to be considered slick?

He tried to fight running away, which isn't his style and that is why he lost to a lesser fighter.
