Do you consider pacquiao's 8th belt legitimate?

Dude just defending his WBO Welterweight strap against Clottey, Mosley in the spring.....and in the fall, more than likely Mayweather/Berto.Pac should just quit if he's going to fuck around with catchweights.
I hate the fact that in the future he's going to be regarded as a phenom, even though he obtained his legacy via restricting other fighters. If he holds a title of a division he should not be putting limits on how much his opposition weighs, as long as it's within the weight class - it should be fine.

Now if you wanna talk about the 154 strap, well time will tell if he is a legit champ. If he faces a top guy there....then I consider him a legit champ.Comment

He won it via a catchweight, then fought Clottey at the actual weight.
Is he going to fight Mosley at the actual weight?
I guess he might, seeing as Mosley is completely shot. Shame he had to let Floyd ' test the water '.
Why couldn't he let Cotto come in at 147? But allowed to Clottey to?Comment

Niether the Cotto belt or the Margarito belt are IMO legit. Pac has won the fights but weight draining fighters to get an advantage isnt the way any other fighter oin History has done it.
1. Facing Cotto, Clottey, Margarito and now Mosley has opened my eyes to the scam that Pac and Arum are running. To go back further facing Hatton and Diaz at 140 was an even easier calculation because they were the weakest title holders out there. Bradley, Alexander, Holt, Juan Diaz and Nate Campbell were all better competition than Hatton whom Mayweather had just exposed and nobody besides Zab Judah even knew who David Diaz was.
2. Catchweights for a big profit is what it is. If you want the money then sign on the dotted line. This will hamper your performance but you will get riches.
3. Hopefully the public is starting to realize how fabricated this run Pac is on. He refused to fight Yuri Foreman because he was too tall kinda like Martinez whom also happens to be the same size as Margarito. Anyone with skills want get a fight. Now who could I be talking about.
1. Marquez= asking for too much money less than Mosley but too much.
2. Berto= Not none eventhough he is an HBO fighter and has a belt at 147.
3. Martinez= too big and would have too come down to 147. BS
4. Bradley= who knows what the excuse will be.
5. Alexander= who knows what the excuse will be.
6. Khan= were trained by the same guy.Last edited by EMACULATE; 01-09-2011, 05:14 AM.Comment

Nobody knew Manny would be able to handle a full fledge WW. Prior to the Hatton fight, everyone in his camp thought 140 was the highest he could be competitive at, but once he KO'd Hatton, they tested the waters with Cotto at 145.He won it via a catchweight, then fought Clottey at the actual weight.

If Manny would have dominated Clottey prior to the Cotto fight....then the Cotto fight would have been at 147 as well.
Maybe Pacquiao should rematch him in the fall to kill any arguments that the catchweight hurt Cotto. It would also kill the argument that his belt isn't legit because if he win against Miguel, then he would unify two titles.Comment

I just don't like the fact he's done what he was done with catchweights involved.Nobody knew Manny would be able to handle a full fledge WW. He should've taken the risk at 147 against Cotto, that's what legacy is all about - taking big risks.
Fuck Cotto-Pac II, Cotto should stay up at 154.Comment
