I don't get how some Manny fans can just use the Arum line of a fighter pricing himself out when Arum doesn't want those fights in the first place. He wants to keep fights in house like he has been doing so that way he gets even more money.

I would think all Manny fans would want him to fight the best fights and challenge himself, but instead I read, "he already beat Marquez twice" or "he priced himself out"
Have guys even seen the 2 Marquez fights?
Marquez won more judge rounds against Manny than the last 6 Manny opponents combine. Most so called boxing experts had Marquez winning the rematch.

I would like to see the fight at 140, Manny would be the favorite, but with the history of the 2 other fights, I could see All the New Manny fans(fans since De la Hoya) that have not even seen their 2 fights, be surprise how well Marquez fought Manny and they might even see MArquez winning like some pre De la Hoya Manny fans
    good post

I am one among many here who wants Pac/jmm rematch. I am also one of those who think marquez really priced himself out of the fight.

Arum's suggestion for jmm to fight berto first might be a good way for marquez to finally land that rematch and at the same time get a huge payday. A win against Berto would make the boxing world sit up and take notice. If this happens Arum and Pac might just agree to jmm's $5M share.

Arum will be force to pay JMM monetary damages for making false claims to the media to defame JMM's character!!!

All lawyers are bull**** artists, but when they publicly claim to have documentation that would defame someone's character, they better produce it because they are opening the door wide-open to getting sued!!! All JMM/Golden Boy and Top Rank have to do is mutually agree to provide those corresponding emails as evidence!!

The fact that JMM is not suing or calling Arum a liar about the e-mails PROVES that Arum is telling the truth!!
        You fkn clown.

He is not defaming Marquez' character. WTF are you on kid?

Trainee law grad student? FAIL !!

Arum did not make defamatory statements you clown, he made an off-hand comment, in a quibble over he-said she-said, in a largely unimportant matter, to improve public perception over the joke Mosley/Pac fight.

Get a grip kid, you're trying to make out that this was some kind of official legal statement made in front of a grand jury.

        How was Marquez defamed?

The lying old cvnt simply made a ***-off comment to the media.

Stop taking sweeties from dirty old men

Then we'll know the truth, and I think Marquez will be humiliated.

He tried to present himself as wanting a 3rd fight, but in reality, it wasnt a big priority to him.

I don't know where these clowns are getting it...boxing isnt a charity case. Marquez has no fans, sells horribly at PPVs. Why not just accept the fight at Pac's terms?

He is probably just wasting his time as Pac has no desire to fight him too.

Who is he kidding trying to ask for this and that, BEGGARS CANT BE CHOOSERS.
Once again, where is the counter offer from TP?What are those term exactly?

JMM wants Pac, not Berto. Leave Berto out of it.

You can cry about Morales, but were you crying about catchweights against Cotto, Oscar, and a faded and shot Margarito?

How bout David Diaz? And a faded and shot Ricky Hatton?

                Were you crying then too?
Because more than likely Berto will be the front runner if:

                1. Mayweather's legal issues prevent a fight in the fall or if negotiations fall apart once again.

                2. If Haymon and Di Bella do their part, as promised, in matching Berto tougher in 2011.

If Marquez was smart he would face Berto and make him the clear favorite to land a fight with Manny. Fighting Morales isn't going to do it, but unfortunately Beristein and GBP aren't smart enough to realize this.

All I wanna hear is jmm say he didn't ask for more money then he got against floyd. If he says that then fine, we got a controversy. But up till now he hasn't said ****. If he really came to the table with "I want double what I got on the biggest pay day of my career" he deserved to get laughed out of the building.

old-cry-baby-boy marquez is dying and salivated like a mad, hungry hyena to get pacquiao...

                    obviously for money...

he's crying for a money fight he doesn't deserve...

I for one want to see a Pac/Marquez III. But i agree with you that Marquez most likely priced himself out of the fight. He could have easily said he never asked for more than his fight with floyd, but he didn't.

Basically, Marquez negotiated his fight with Pac as if he fought and won against floyd.
