Arum is just playing with the numbers. The 5 million is a buyout, so that includes Marquez + GB share. What is reported he got for Mayweather doesn't count GB share.

I don't get how some Manny fans can just use the Arum line of a fighter pricing himself out when Arum doesn't want those fights in the first place. He wants to keep fights in house like he has been doing so that way he gets even more money.

I would think all Manny fans would want him to fight the best fights and challenge himself, but instead I read, "he already beat Marquez twice" or "he priced himself out"
Have guys even seen the 2 Marquez fights?
Marquez won more judge rounds against Manny than the last 6 Manny opponents combine. Most so called boxing experts had Marquez winning the rematch.

I would like to see the fight at 140, Manny would be the favorite, but with the history of the 2 other fights, I could see All the New Manny fans(fans since De la Hoya) that have not even seen their 2 fights, be surprise how well Marquez fought Manny and they might even see MArquez winning like some pre De la Hoya Manny fans

That is Arum playing with the numbers by including Golden Boy Share on the buyout of Marquez
That would be like Arum including his share on the Guarantee Manny purse.

you can tell arum is telling the truth here, he brought up the evidence almost right away, you dont do that right away if you are just chatting rubbish

marquez should just ask for like 2m for the fight, he does not really deserve more

arum wont present the e mails he is lying about this just like lied about agreeing to unlimited accurate random blood testing then dumb ass koncz exposed that team pac lie on pac marg 24/7 with the one week cut off. marquez asked for less than 25% of the purse against pac and even agreed to the fight at 147. this shows how pacs entire career past jr light weight has been manipulated, carefully guided and cherry picked. and the last note if this fight did go down right now at 147 every true boxing fan knows pac would barely win a d or an sd that would be closely debated like the last 2 because true boxing fans know styles make fights, unless they are blinded by small minded national/racial pride (fanaticism)

Thats what I thought, I found it a little more then odd that in the last article jmm didn't even mention a purse split, when everyone under the sun knows that was the alleged sticking point. U can't ask for double what u got against floyd and realistically think you've got any chance to get the fight. That was ur biggest pay day of ur career, u want DOUBLE THAT?????? Do us all a favor and hit the bricks or grow a brain. What a waste of time, acting like you'd cut ur leg off to get a shot at pac, then u walk in the room with this nonsense. Arum might be a lying piece of ****, but he's not ******. A first year promoter would have laughed in jmm's face at that bull****.

These are the bragging rights that JMM would have achieved had he not been such a dumba$$..

                1. Possibly the first fighter to give Hamed his first L, instead that distinction belongs to Barrera

                2. Could have gotten the rematch with Pac in late 2004 or early 2005, and possibly won. Possibly could have given Pac his first legitimate loss since he fought in the US. Instead that distinction belongs to Morales.

                3. He could have been the guy sharing the ring with Morales in an epic FOTY candidate in 2005.

                4. He could have fought Pac in Cowboy Stadium for the third largest boxing crowd in the history of fights made in the US.

                5. Could have been involved in a super fight with one of the most popular rising star in Amir Khan..

Instead this is what JMM's career is reduced to:

                1. Loss in a close fight in Indonesia for 30K
                2. Fighting a fringe contenders in Diaz and Katsidis
                3. Getting shammed in the weights by Floyd Jr in a mega fight

So for him to price himself out of a fight again should not come of as a surprise anymore. After all it would have been the 6th time that he passed up an opportunity that could have gotten him to the next level..

Instead he keeps harping on those two close fights that he had against Pac even though he didnt win either of them...I mean if he didnt pass up those opportunities, then those fights with Pac would just be a footnote in his career.. Instead its the only thing that he has to show for...

This post here says it all, where is the counter-offer if Arum want the JMM fight? Anyone that takes Arum's word in negotiation is just an idiot.

By the time JMM fought Diaz, he already lost the mantle of the top contender because of the loss he suffered against Nate..

Katsidis.. seriously.. If this was 2008 were all the big names were in the LW, Katsidis would barely make it to the top 10...
