It sounds to me like Pascal thinks he will have an easier time with Dawson since he clearly beat him the first time, as opposed to Hopkins which he barely/luckily got a draw (which I had the fight a draw as well). He is probably thinking get an 'easier' win vs. Dawson and then fight Hopkins again, who will be one year older by then. The problem is I believe Hopkins exposed Pascal and Dawson will probably win the rematch which will scuttle all of Pascal's plans. But maybe HBO could work out a double header with Dawson vs. Pascal II and Hopkins vs. Tavoris Cloud and have the winners fight each other. I know, the logical thing never happens but that would be a good free double header...

well...dawson came closer to getting a ko on pascal than hopkins did, so i'd say pascal is gonna have a tough fight whether its hopkins or dawson...

i do like the doubleheader idea though...as long as its held in canada everybody should go home with a paycheck

Why should HBO throw so much money on a guy that fights without any passion and doesn't bring any fans to the table? Pascal may bring fans, but it would be a short term investment because the guy isn't that good as Hopkins and even Froch showed us.

The rematch clause was signed long ago, so the WBC should respect it. By failing to do so, they are saying that they do not believe in being law-abiding. Which is no surprise.

Hopkins will get a shot against the Pascal-Dawson winner, if he wants it, in any case. To strip Pascal for obeying the law is pathetic.

Pascal wants to fight both fighters, and thinks he can beat both. (I think he'd lose to both, but that irrelevant). He wants to fight Dawson first simply because he has a contractual obligation to do so. It really isn't rocket science.
